Major news outlets are calling the Virginia governor's race for Republican Bob McDonnell, who's viewed gays with disdain his entire life and has argued LGBTs are undeserving of discrimination protections because, well, employers should have the right to refuse to hire queers. When final votes are tallied, McDonnell is expected to have won by a 2-1 margin over Democrat Creigh Deeds.
UPDATE: Ken Cuccinelli will join McDonnell's camp as lieutenant governor. You remember Cuccinelli, the mouthpiece for this bigotry, right?
