Atlanta Eagle Bar Raid Plaintiffs To Score $1+ Million Settlement

The City of Atlanta and the gay Atlanta Eagle patrons forced to the floor during a Stonewalle-style raid last September have taken a judge’s advice — and agreed to work things out. The city will pay the plaintiffs a reported $1 million-plus for the privilege of making 62 people smother their faces in dirty flooring and arresting zero of them during its “suspicious drug activity” storming of the bar. I’m sure Mayor Kasim Reed is thrilled to have this budget line item finally taken care of. Or he will, when/if it’s approved by the City Council’s public safety committee.
