Latin singer Ricky Martin may have come out as a “fortunate homosexual man” but his luck isn’t so good in Honduras, where he’s scheduled to perform on October 16: Religious leaders are demanding the government block his entry into the country because as a gay dad, “his nuclear family is not the type of family that Honduran society and laws approve of.”
According to Fox News Latino, Minister of Interior Áfrico Madrid claims Evangelical and Catholic leaders have asked that he deny a visa to Martin in order to “protect the moral and ethical principles of our society.”
We’d like to take a moment to remind you that Honduras has one of the highest murder rates in the world, including a string of uninvestigated LGBT deaths. But, hey, giving a pop star a hard time is probably more important.
Looks like Christian leaders have found a new morally hazardous “race music” to denounce.
I wish them similar success.

Are all the citizens in that country taught to disrespect personal choices and freedom? Are they all some kind of slaves for the people in power or with money? Who is the person in that country who has any sense of human rights and human dignity? Organize and revolt, that’s all i can say. I am not going there until they change, so should everyone else. Boycott and bury their tourism.

When I read such stupid comments like some of the new on the one on here, I really feel ashamed to be gay. RICKY MARTIN is an ICON,a LEGEND in LATIN AMERICA and has been touring all over the world, selling out stadiums and arena, he has millions of fans in Latin America and Europe, and of course thousands of fans that want to enjoy his concerts, and it should not be present for few religious sick people.
@ BUBASBACK you are nothing but an idiot, RICKY MARTIN’S LATEST ALBUM ” MUSICA ALMA Y SEXO” IS AN EXCELLENT ALBUM, that’s why New York Times, LA Times and the critics gave really great reviews. Ricky is a very talented charismatic artist.

Rick Martin must be a pretty powerful threat: he was actually able to get Protestants and their Catholic enemies to join forces on something. (Let’s hope the concert is allowed to go on and lots and lots of Hondurans will have fond memories of attending and enjoying themselves).

We should be happy they’re pushing for this. Every minute they waste on denying a silly pop star entrance to their country, is a minute they’re not murdering gays who are already there.
