After three weeks of meticulous vote counting, openly gay candidate for state representative, Jamie Pedersen (pictured, coming at cha!), has won the primary. Originally, Pedersen and his oppponent, Jim Street, were 200 votes apart, but a recount pushed 52 extra votes in Pedersen’s favor, forcing Street to concede.

While the primary vote may have been close, Pedersen’s running in the 43rd District: one of the most liberal areas in the country. That said, people are expecting a landslide win in November.
