Father Tommaso Stenico certainly did his gay research. The disgraced, yet “tasty” Catholic apparently kept “detailed dossiers” on known and suspected gay priests.
A high profile Vatican cleric suspended after he was shown on television making advances to a young man allegedly had a list of homosexual priests and bishops in the Roman Catholic Church’s governing body…
Father Tommaso Stenico, 60, had “a detailed dossier” of all the homosexual clerics at Vatican “with a list of names and circumstances implicating a certain number of priests and even bishops working at the Curia,” Ignazio Ingrao, reporter for the conservative news weekly said.
Stenico also sent his superior Cardinal Claudio Hummes a report denouncing the moral degradation within the Curia, which could make the Vatican “tremble”..
That report, we’re sure, as since been destroyed and damned to hell.

Keeping a dossier on gay priests? Talk about an all-day job. That dossier, I’ll bet, is not thin like, say, the Rhode Island telephone book.

…more like the Greater Metropolitan Tokyo telephone book…white AND yellow pages.

Unlike we Anglicans, the Roman Catholic Church is a monolithic borg….the Vatican Curia is the main borg.
The mistake was sending the information to an enabler and maybe more, an active participant. One would imagine that the Italian and world secular press would love to have these names.
What is new anyway? Gay popes, gay cardinals, gay archbishops, gay bishops, gay monsignori, and gay priests and deacons have always been part of the reality of the Roman Catholic Church.
The difference is simple. The majority rite, the Roman or Latin rite, is celibate – you know, sell a bit here, sell a bit there.
The plurality (mostly all) bishops in the world were trained or did postgraduate work in Rome. Rome needs to assure itself that the men they promote to prelacy of that level are men they know and trust. The gay underground has always worked……and did not start in the USA with Pacelli and Spellman.

Damn, he should have sent that dossier to the press…or to Queerty. đ
