THE SHOT — Justin Bieber, or some version of him, appears on the cover of Brazil’s Toda Teen Star magazine. First comes the nail polish, then comes the complete makeover.

Please don’t use trans as an insult nor as a ‘funny’ snarky comment. And if you’re going to do so, at least have the courage to put your name on it.

Kind of in poor tast, don’t you think? You’re mocking this kid’s gender performance *and* making trans identities into a punchline. Missed out on that news of bullying, did you? Or did you just think that, you know, since you’re “gay” that somehow makes it alright? FAIL.

Wow, they put really heavy make up on him for a cover photo shoot. He is wearing as much eye shadow as Anne Hathaway when she hits the red carpet!

After all the momentary awareness of the harm of bullying… what does Queerty do… perpetuate bullying based on perceived gender expression and use the idea of being trans as though it’s a joke or the ultimate place where freaks ends up. This is why many in the trans community have a hard time believing Perez Hilton (who will label people tranny at the drop of a hat if he thinks he can get a laugh at their expense) or forums like this when they claim they’re trying to bring awareness to issues of bullying.

Moreover, the magazine obviously Photoshopped the image out the wazoo, so why snark at a 16 year old who’s likely just doing what he’s told.

Earlier, this blog site asked for anyone to prove of instances where queer’s bullied straights. This is the proof. Stop being stupid. I’m close to fining my information elsewhere.

And what exactly do all those who identify as trans think of this cover? Do tell. We know how you feel about Queerty now.

Wow…with all the gay teen suicides you’re covering you decide to pick on a 15 year old kid? Seriously?

On Saturday Queerty ran an item; ‘Canadian’s Douchebag Radio Host Dean Blundell Wrist Slapped For Calling Justin Bieber A Transexual ‘She-He It”.
“…Blundell — as you can hear in the audio clip below — refers to Beiber as a “he-she” and then a “she.” And then an “it.” And then a “transexual.” While laughing.”
Queerty, you said the “douchebag” DJ should be kept off the air.

      Hypocrites!

Looks like I’m the odd one out, but I do think it’s kinda funny that Justin Bieber totally looks like a girl because firstly, that’s obviously not what he is going for, and secondly, it looks to me like the magazine did a TON of post work, airbrushing and photoshopping on that shot for the cover. I doubt the he actually looked like that for the shoot. It’s like an the art director had waay too much time on their hands, which is unfortunate for Bieber.

The joke is really on the magazine for going so over kill.

@Fagburn: Where did Queerty mention that transgendered people were an “it”. You are misguided, hysterical and manipulative.

lawl its funny because the photo editor probably thought he was a girl

its obviously a joke. the title isn’t using “trans” negatively so I don’t see why people are getting all up in arms about this.

I don’t understand what has prompted calling a famous 16 year old boy a trans-sexual. As far as I know he is a handsome, very young looking boy who is straight. What has he done to cause anyone to call him un-deserved names or labels? Very strange and very creepy that anyone would attack a kid for no reason. I would fire anyone who did that as part of their radio, television or writing job.

@richardporter: If there is nothing wrong with being transgendered as everyone feels or at least implies then what is the problem if someone is referred to as trans? I am not heterosexual but i don’t accuse people who say or think i am for whatever reason of being hateful?

@Jason: oh so you obviously feel that only transgendered people can write that they feel someone is trans? Sorry, it doesn’t work that way.

I only recently discovered Queerty and had very much enjoyed their content until reading this article. Why on earth would Queerty be projecting such nonsense in light of the recent gay suicide epidemic? I agree with an earlier poster who begged the question…”Do you think that this is okay simply because you are a gay site??” Clearly, Queerty needs to take another look at their priorities and provide support to the gay community, not baseless criticism.
