Let’s Get Obama’s Defenders to Defend Elena Kagan

Know what’s great about having Richard Socarides on your program to discuss Elena Kagan? He worked with her at the White House for four years, so he knows how she approaches the issues. Know what’s terrible about having Richard Socarides on your program to discuss Elena Kagan? He’s clearly a staunch defender of institutional Democrats (just see his lame “take down” of Obama on DADT) that his views are all but stained.

Then again, who are you going to invite on that knows Kagan well? Dan Meltzer? He’s the guy who wanted Kagan’s Harvard Law dean job (that she was picked for) and the White House principal deputy counsel — whose job it was to prep Sonio Sotomayor for her Senate confirmation hearings — who just resigned with curious timing. He can’t stand Kagan.
