Openly gay Australian hyphenate (singer-songwriter-music producer) and all-around hottie Sam Sparro received his first Grammy nomination last night in the category of Best Dance Recording for "Black & Gold." Other nominees include Madonna, Daft Punk, Rhianna, Hot Chip and Lady Gaga.

I love this song. When I close my eyes and listen, he sounds like a black woman. I love that. How does he DO that!?

Wow, I'm impressed and not really a big fan of this kind of music. The video is great – deliberate takes, nice flow of images. Plus, he manages to use common images of fire/fireworks and have them interact with the dancers in a way that's not trite. Good work.
