And It Ain't Pretty
Author Terry McMillan's got plenty to say, especially when it comes to her ex-husband, Jonathan Plummer. As Plummer plugs his unimaginative "novel", McMillan sits down with Uneq magazine to offer her two cents on Plummer's one-track mind. You'll have to buy the current issue of Uneq to read the interview. The mag's press flack, however, did pass along a long-winded, explosive and very angry statement from McMillan. Here's a sample: …He doesn't care if he ever goes back to Jamaica. It is the main reason he went on television to announce his homosexuality. He wanted the people in Jamaica to be embarrassed and to hate him so that in the event that our marriage were annulled - his goal was to use the self-generated hatred sure to come from Jamaica so that he would qualify for asylum and be able to stay in this country if his citizenship were revoked or in jeopardy. This is how slick he is. Read the rest of McMillan's statement, after the jump. |

Trashy Tell All Never Should Have Been Published
Despite the admitted parallels to his life - one passage explicitly refers to Stella's titular groove - Plummer calls his book fiction. Simon & Schuster's legal department even made sure to include a disclaimer saying as much. Still, we’ve got our doubts. One thing’s for sure: the book’s opened an entirely new chapter of drama for Plummer, McMillan and a slew of new characters. |

And Pulled...
Jonathan Plummer, the man responsible for both the giving and the taking away of Terry McMillan’s infamous groove, has written the gay, gold-digging version of O.J.’s If I Did It, and booksellers are responding to it in a similar way — by banning it from their shelves. While some think Marcus Books may just be pro-McMillan, Plummer's manager cousin says otherwise… |

Like everyone else, we found it strangely ironic that the man who gave Stella her groove back turned out to be a big old flaming queen. Yesterday Oprah snagged author/duped wife Terry McMillan and gay ex-hubby, Jonathon Plummer for their first sit-down since the two of them went the way of Brad and Jen. Plummer, obviously embracing his newly found queerness, appeared to have arrived straight from a shopping spree at Express Men. And that Bart Simpson hair has got to go. “I believe,” yapped McMillan on national TV, “that you’ve known all your life that you had feelings towards men.” With so much lying and betrayal we were hoping for some drama. A Ricky Lake eye gouging, even some Jerry Springer chair-tossing. What we got instead was nothing but negligible acceptance tagged onto the thin veil of PR forgiveness. Our favorite quote came from McMillan herself who insisted their romance was based on true love in the beginning; “I think Jonathon did love me. You can’t fake this.” Terry, we hate to break it to you but it looks like he did. |

• Though he dissed us in his diss of Madonna we are still loving Rich’s site. His Madonna commentary is not our feelings exactly, but we think he makes many valid points. But coming from a Janet Jackson fan, you gotta take it all with a grain of salt. Check out the comments section in the Madonna thread for more on the subject of Madge and The Gays. • Two women with better vocal chops and songwriting abilities than Madonna are releasing albums today. Run and get the new stellar albums by Kate Bush and Cyndi Lauper. Rolling Stone agrees with us. Then again, they like the new Madonna a lot too. • The B Squad is back. Their movie is titled Valtrex, and obviously it’s not safe for work. • Club Fly is just what the homo traveler needs. It’s Google Maps for gay bars and will be a valuable travel companion when you’re in a foreign city and want to get friendly with the locals. • Last week we told you about Jackie Beat’s garage sale. Tickets for her Christmas show are now on sale. It is the funniest show of the year. • “When he told me he was gay I wanted to take a lamp and bash him in the face with it," is what author Terry McMillan says about her husband’s outing himself. Oprah will hear the whole story on Wednesday. |

•Yay! Really gay, neon colored headphones for our iPods. They will go perfectlty with the Madonna Nano. Thanks Cool Hunter. • Get a longer listen of Madonna’s ABBA-sampled new single and check out more album artwork. She is totally rocking that Boogie Nights red hair. • We just found out that the man who helped Stella get her groove back is in fact a big queen. Author Terry McMillan has divorced her husband, who was 24 years younger. What will she call her next book, How Stella Pulled a Star Jones? • Andrew Sullivan’s site has been hacked. Even we don’t find it funny. • Marlene Dietrich hated sex. Um, we knew that. Most lesbians do hate sex with men. |
