In response to the recent violent anti-gay attacks, Queer Rising, a grass roots organization focused on creating full equality for queer people through nonviolent action, is hosting a ‘Take Back The Night’ rally this Thursday. The group will stand outside Madison Square Garden where the two incidents took place.
The event is meant to be a nonviolent response to the attacks as well as an opportunity to raise awareness for all hate crimes. The rally will be followed by a march through Chelsea along 8th Avenue.
Attendees are encouraged to RSVP to the event on Facebook.

Love this! Love being part of a community where if heaven forbid I would be attacked by a homophobe, I know I have a community who would stand up and speak up and rally and educate on my behalf.
I have had a friend who was attacked in an anti gay crime and she was so touched (and it actually helped her recovery) when our local town got out on the street and rallied.
