Waiting On It: Chris Buttars to Be Reprimanded for Anti-Gay Comments
“[Utah] Senate President Michael Waddoups has scheduled a news conference for 9:30 this morning [Mountain Time] at the state Capitol. He is expected to announce some sort of reprimand against the lawmaker. The options for Buttars range from resignation to the loss of his committee chairmanships. Sources close to the Senate told KSL that a reprimand will include at least being removed as chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee. At this point it’s unclear if the senator’s position on the Judicial Confirmation Committee is in jeopardy.” [KSL]

That was pretty disappointing– Senate President Michael Waddoups basically encouraged Buttars to continue saying outrageous stuff while stripping him of his committee chairmanship.
