FESTIVAL SEASON

WATCH: Director Ash Christian Plants Petunia At New York’s NewFest

We loved Ash Christian’s previous efforts, Fat Girls and Mangus!, so we’re totally jonesing for his next dark comedy, Petunia, to come to the Big Apple this weekend at NewFest, New York’s LGBT film festival.

The film weaves together the stories of three brothers—Adrian, Michael and gay Charlie—as they try to unlearn everything their meddling psychoanalyst parents have taught them. Above, catch the trailer from this dysfunctional-family farce—which stars Christine Lahti, Thora Birch, David Rasche, Michael Urie, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Tobias Segal and Brittany Snow—plus an interview with producer and co-star Jimmy Heck.

Petunia plays Saturday, July 28, at 11:30am at the Walter Reade Theatre in Lincoln Center.
