Iowa’s gays have never had an ally in Chet Culver, so it should come as no surprise that the Democratic governor agreed with a judge’s ruling to halt same-sex nuptials.
The state allowed gay marriages for about four hours last week, but happy gays were stopped in their tracks when the ruling judge stayed his previous decision. Now the judiciary will have to battle it out to see who comes out on top. For his part, Culver said he’s still against gay marriage, but will let the courts do their judicial thing:
I respect the important role that the judicial branch plays in this issue and in many issues. I have said personally that I believe marriage is between a man and a woman, and I’ve been consistent on that. At the same time, I think it’s important we let the judicial process work itself out here.
The courts could be “working itself out” for the next two years. Or more…

I’m from Iowa, but now live in CA. I’m going to start writing letters. I suggest the rest of you Iowans or former Iowans do the same. If Iowa was the second state to allow gay marriage I would just shit.

The day will come when all these retarded “leaders”, retarded laws and rescinded decisions will be hard to believe … and the people who were part of them will be history’s laughingstocks.
