Johnny Weir didn’t just fly to Los Angeles over the weekend for the GLAAD Media Awards on Saturday. Equality California, the gay rights organization taking 2010 off from fighting for marriage equality in the state, hosted a fundgayser on Sunday with Weir as special guest. It’s a lovely little tour for the figure skater who, as far as we can tell, has yet to say the two words that Ricky Martin, Lance Bass, and Wanda Sykes have all spit out.

Wtf is he being honored if he hasn’t come out? And he’s talking about sports? Queen, that hair is too tightened around your head! If he really is there to celebrate equality, why isn’t he talking about it? Why not be a REAL role model for gay youth rather than be babbling about Swaroski crystals? Weir, go away please until you are ready to say proudly what everyone already knows. That you’re gay.

Mike, When your giggling Fangirldom takes such precedence that you mock the bravery and political importance of people who have taken the step to come out, then I really think you need to look at yourself and rethink your priorities. You can like somebody without taking that step over into obsession where you start to think that everything they do is right and wonderful and anybody who says it isn’t is a “Hater” and just “Jealous”…thats where your fandom starts to get creepy.
Weir needs to come out, or needs to stop claiming that he’s “Edgy” and “In your face”.

A bit delusional if he thinks nobody knows…or cares…

I dont think it’s anybody’s business. If he doesn’t want to come out, then thats on him. I’m not going to sit there and call him gay just because he has certain qualities about him. Thats stereotyping, and if it were a straight person saying it about YOU, then you wouldnt like it. We have too many problems to work on as a community than to focus on if a figure skaters is gay or not. And it doesnt matter if he is straight and being honored with an award. Straight people can be friendly toward our cause too. I just think that it makes us look bad when you sit there and say that somebody cant be like Mr. Weir and not be gay.
