With a stellar all-star cast that includes Mark Ruffalo, Matt Bomer, Julia Roberts and Jim Parsons, Ryan Murphy‘s film adaptation of The Normal Heart has been as eagerly anticipated as any project in recent memory. But now that HBO has released an incredible longer trailer for the movie, we’re officially counting the days until the May 25 premiere.

Based on Larry Kramer‘s Tony Award-winning play, the film chronicles the early years of the AIDS crisis in New York City and focuses on Ruffalo’s activist character Ned Weeks (inspired somewhat by the playwright) and his allies in the medical community as they attempt to expose the truth about the burgeoning epidemic to a city in denial. Watch the new trailer below.
