Leave her alone! She was out in the 1970s at the height of her career, which is more than 99% of gay celebs can say in today’s more welcoming climate.
She came out after her first grand slam title at Wimbledon, and went on to win 17 more, including 8 more at Wimbledon. She lost a lot of money in endorsements because of that, and even got Billie Jean King to come out. Without her being so open and brave, a lot of us would have never known a successful gay figure growing up.
Martina is my hero and she has shown more bravery than any other gay figure alive today.
