Hot or Not, the early ’00s precursor to swipe-and-judge apps like Grindr and Jack’d, is proving just how relevant it is by releasing a list of what its users believe to be the hottest LGBT celebrities in Hollywood.
The site encourages users to judge people based on their physical appearance while offering absolutely no details about their personality or interests, a concept that became wildly popular somewhere between the birth of AOL and three months after the birth of AOL. Using this same process, a reported “10 million” people using the Hot or Not app (LOL!) selected the actor who played Aaron Samuels in Mean Girls as the most physically appealing gay man around. (We had no idea he was gay either!)
There are more than a few ladies on the list, but that didn’t stop Olympic dreamboat Tom Daley from slipping into the top 10.
Below, the top 10 men on the list. What do you think?
1. Jonathan Bennett
2. Chris Colfer
3. Matt Bomer
4. Jim Parsons
5. Tom Daley
6. Matt Dallas
8. Andrew Rannells
9. Joe McElderry
10. Jesse Tyler Ferguson
h/t boyculture
redcarpet
Chris Colfer at number 2??? I can’t get past his baby face and voice. And Jonathan Bennett looks like he was rode hard and put away wet.
NateB79
How did Tom Daley make it to a hottest guys in Hollywood list?
KamQueer
Why are they all white? This is some bullshit. Shit to the bull.
hex0
@KamQueer:
It’s a user voted list, what does their race matter?
Jim Parsons at number four though. was it all women voting?
WhyteRabbit
this list is horrible…. zachary quinto? wentworth miller? keith hamilton cobb? guillermo diaz? :::sigh::: i think the average age of the “10 million” must barely break the “legal” mark.
robirob
Wait. Jonathan Bennett came out? This is news to me (or I must have blocked that info out of my mind).
hotboyvb81
that’s one SAD list!!!!
redcarpet
Last I hear Jonathan Bennett wasn’t officially out but was apparently had a really slutty and gay reputation in hollywood.
Mezaien
Who needs working out? so many men, so little time will keep you trim big time.
QuintoLover
Queerty, you didn’t know Jonathan Bennett was gay???? Really?????
And the list?!? Chris Colfer, Jim Parsons, Andrew Rannells and Jesse Tyler Ferguson on the list?? Chris Colfer Jim Parsons ahead of Anderson Cooper and Matt Dallas? No Zach or Wentworth Miller???? WTF?!?!?
Darson
Jonathan Bennett and Matt Dallas were a couple at one time.
SeanBear
I am a little surprised Neil Patrick Harris is not on the list…..I think it is a very strange compilation of guys…Really Strange
enlightenone
According to Tom Daly, Queerty’s dreamboat, he wasn’t gay either! But like many people who posts, you are what you claim you are.
Ihadtosayit
Queerty continues to be the champion of the gay white or white gay press…when you can’t include Michael Sam, Jason Collins (Tom Daley is here and I am sure that he is not in Hollywood); Guillermo Diaz and numerous other minorities… that is just sad and reeks of the same behaviors and/or words that you read on Grindr or Manhunt accounts…oh well…
DarkZephyr
@KamQueer: I’m so %#^*ing tired of the race trolling that goes on at queerty anytime a list of hot white guys is posted. Black men are beautiful. Latino men are gorgeous. Asian men are sexy as hell, etc. But white men are these things as well, so please stop bitching unless you are just so repulsed by white men you just can’t hold in yiur disgust. In which case you need to go to a different blog entirely or you will be miserable at queerty.com.
DarkZephyr
@Ihadtosayit: For the record, race trolling angst ain’t sexy.
Ihadtosayit
@DarkZephyr: How do you make it thru the day:
This is for you: http://www.mybroadband.co.za/photos/data/500/20110412-190616_20110324121351_someone_is_wrong.jpg
Res1
@KamQueer: Amen, brother. That is why I excluded myself form the gay community. The gay community is very prejudice and that has been proven time and time again.
Half of the men on the list aren’t cute and Matt Bomber or RIcky Martin should be #1.
lighterboy
@hex0: I’m going to guess that not only are you white, but that you take your whiteness for granted. There are *tons* of attractive men of all colors, not just white, in the world. But white seems to be the default ideal in the gay community; you’re not really attractive unless you’re white.
lighterboy
@DarkZephyr: Wait a minute: the vast majority of media representation is white. No one is saying white people aren’t hot, but lists like these make that statement while ignoring people of color. If you say that everyone of all colors is attractive, then let’s have lists that say so! You’re not the one being persecuted here if 90% of all print, online, and TV commentary about gay men is white. Gay men of color deserve a piece of that pie simply for existing.
hex0
@lighterboy:
WTF this is a list compiled by people who use “Hot or Not”, I presume a lot of the votes come from het women. Yes the list is shit but blaming queety or us for this is ridiculous. Of course there are attractive non-white men where did I say otherwise?
Lvng1tor
First, Queerty reported on a list that was voted on on another site. Queerty didn’t do the list.
Second, I’m not gonna be sorry or ashamed I’m white or take it for granted. It’s all I know from a first hand perspective. It’s how you treat people that matters also, That’s a cheap argument (that takes away from the real issues with privilege in this country….just cause your white doesn’t mean you take advantage of it when ya disagree with a person of another race) and has as little to do with anything real as me saying any time a black person defends a black person or can’t see something from my white(???) point of view it’s their black rage or something equally stupid.
Yes there is inequality but getting so pissed over and over and over and over again at queerty and any white person on here who states a basic fact like I did in the second sentence….then declaring for the umpteenth time…you are done with queerty is just ridiculous. How about you bring articles about the hottest gay black men list or hunt down every poll online that is of interest to you and vote and make sure you let others who you think would be interested in the polls know. Or, take the initiative to start your own site and get it going. Queerty matters soooo much?
Last, did anyone bother to go on the Hot or not site and see if they had pics of men of other races? If there is not a good representation then get on the editors/owners of that list to answer not queerty.
Kidomega123
@Lvng1tor: It’s not up to the readers of this website to also research, write and edit the articles on Queerty’s behalf. Queerty should WANT to include articles that are inclusive because they supposedly represent all “queer” people of every background; which, by the way, they never seem to post anything that’s of interest to lesbians here. Talk about being underrepresented in gay media. I understand that they were lazy and co opted another website’s article, but that doesn’t make their laziness any less offensive to some people. I dont think it’s out of line to suggest that they *try* and put in a little more effort every now and then.
Phillip
Is “Hot or Not” still a thing? And while I’m mildly irked by the lack of my melanin enhanced brothers and these sad people’s limited view of hotness in general, I’m also disappointed with the exclusion of Jonathan Groff. Then again its just a silly little list. So let me unwad my panties and move on.
Tracy Pope
I checked my calendar. It is NOT April 1st. My only conclusion is the list was voted on mostly by an age demographic that isn’t old enough to vote, which means nothing to me.
Umm, guess I’m supposed to say “Sorry kids” or some such … oh ef it, it’s just stupid.
Tracy Pope
After that I checked the site. It’s still an ongoing poll. It’s actually two women who are presently in first and second place and the first black (am I even allowed to use that word?)gay man is at number 27.
Still stupid.
Lvng1tor
@Kidomega123: seriously get off your moral and lazy high horse. “It’s not up to the readers…” blah blah blah who made you come on to queerty? At what point did queerty become the only site you could come on for gay ideas? At what point do you have any responsibility to hunt down a site that fits you? At what point did it become Queerty’s civil duty to represent you or me or lesbians or bisexual transgender Asian Dwarfs or anyone they don’t want to? If they’re consistent “lazyness” is a problem for you then why do you keep coming back? BTW… Suggesting they have more diverse content is fine..in fact it’s what I…suggested! Having people say they are “persecuted” by the lack of coverage on a website they voluntarily signed on to is ludicrous. And yes to end this if people are going to complain like ill informed morons and accuse a website of being bigots then YES they should take two freaken seconds to know what the heck they are talking about. It’s part of life or do you just feel it’s never your responsibility to have as fully formed opinion based on your own research?
Kidomega123
@Lvng1tor: The readers of Queerty are allowed to have an opinion about the content on the website. The writers here dont just write for themselves or for each other. They write for an audience. I actually enjoy *most* of the content on Queerty -and- I dont even care that much about the race thing that other people were complaining about. However, if some people want to read articles that are more representative of themselves or their interests, they have the right to voice that opinion. Simply saying, if you dont like the articles here go somewhere else, is not helpful. My understanding is that this is a community website about queer interests; and yet some queers feel like their they’re not being included in the conversation. Why is that such a problem for you?
DarkZephyr
@Ihadtosayit: No really, race trolling angst REALLY isn’t sexy. I promise you it isn’t. If you look at Grindr or Growlr or Scruff, etc., you won’t find a lot of profiles that say “I look for race trolling angst in my ideal man”.
@lighterboy: OK WHO is being “persecuted” by this list?
Also, are chubby men being “persecuted” because they aren’t represented on this list? Are rail thin guys being “persecuted”? How does absence from a list = “persecution”?
And why? WHY does EVERY list have to represent EVERY race EVERY time? How many reasonable people complain when its a list of only Black men, only Asian men or only Latino men?
And once again, this list is a list created by VOTERS at hot or not. Not queerty.com.
And how can you tell me that I am NOT persecuted? Are you kidding me? I’m over 30 and I’m GAY in the USA for God’s sake. I have been nearly KILLED because of it more than ONCE.
This list was meant to be for entertainment and when race baiters and race trollers decide to rain on the bleeping parade its simply not cool. I’m *really* tired of it. I wish Queerty had a mute button because I would *love* to mute the next race baiting troll that posts on Queerty.
Kidomega123
@Kidomega123: And I dont think that Queerty is consistently lazy (although they clearly were here). Nor is Queerty the ONLY place from which I get my gay news (Far from!). Really, I never complain about the articles that are written on Queerty because I know what I’m going to get before I click on it (fluff). Additionally, I’m very rarely moved to comment on these things. I’m just sticking up for some of the other users that you were shouting down because they were simply voicing their opinions. I just think that saying “If you dont like what’s on Queerty, go some place else” is EXTREMELY short sided. I would assume that Queerty appreciates the feedback about things that people dont like as much as they appreciate the positive praise they get when the content is well received. It’s one of the reasons these comment sections exist to begin with.
Kidomega123

@Kidomega123: “Why is that such a problem for you?Why is that such a problem for you?” That wasn’t directed at me, but I will answer it from my point of view.
Its annoying. That’s why. WHY does it have to mar *every* article that has several white guys? Sometimes I just want to come here to be entertained and drool at hot guys without reading angry angst ALL the time. And yes they have a right to voice their opinion but my GOD does it have to be done in SUCH an annoyingly bitchy and angsty manner? “OF course! NO men of color!”, “Of course its ONLY white guys!” Its getting old, boring and annoying. And as I told ijusthadtosayit, its NOT sexy whatsoever. If someone walked up to be and said in a snotty tone “OF course you DON’T find my type attractive!” That wouldn’t make something inside my brain click and change my opinion and magically make the person attractive. You know what I find attractive? Kindness. A good sense of humor. A guy who is fun loving. NOT bitchy angry angst. NEVER that.
DarkZephyr
@Kidomega123: “And I dont think that Queerty is consistently lazy (although they clearly were here).”
Exactly HOW was Queerty lazy when this list was not compiled by Queerty but by voters at Hot or Not? Please explain. Thanks in advance.
DarkZephyr
@lighterboy: “I’m going to guess that not only are you white, but that you take your whiteness for granted. There are *tons* of attractive men of all colors, not just white, in the world. But white seems to be the default ideal in the gay community; you’re not really attractive unless you’re white.”
You could also “You’re not really attractive unless you are between the ages of 18 and 26” or “You’re not really attractive unless you have washboard abs” or “You’re not really attractive unless you are manscaped within an inch of your life and made to look like you have never gone through puberty”. The gay community can sometimes be *extremely* vapid and shallow. A lot more people could get all angsty and snippy under these articles than just men of color if they wanted to, myself included. Thank God the rest of us usually choose not to however.
Kidomega123
@DarkZephyr: They were lazy by stealing another website’s article and reposting it here. I understand in 2014 that’s fairly commonplace in online journalism (lol), but the point is that it required minimal effort on their behalf. All “race baiting” aside, the vast majority of the commenters here dont seem to agree with the names on the list. I think it would be a good idea for the Queerty writers to conduct their own poll voted on by the users of *this* website so that the results are actually meaningful.
p.s. I use the word “stealing” understanding that they did give credit to the original source. My larger point still stands.
Lvng1tor
@Kidomega123: How is it my opinion is “shouting” people down and your’s is…what? Enlightened….Educating….based off so much more than just your opinion? Again…Lazy argument style! It’s a comment section that you even said is for opinions. How can I shut anyone up on a comments site? You only take the parts of my argument you want to answer to and then take them out of context. Then you don’t even defend your point well.
Dxley
Auntie DarkZephyr is at it again! This idiotic dumb fuck should just get off the Internet because when others voice their opinions on the trans issue, she gets all her knickers in a twist and goes on a psychotic rant in trying to defend the trans community, which some of the Queerty readers have said should be a separate thing from the LGB. But now another one (KamQueer) whines just as much about the lack of men of colour on Queerty and she thinks it’s just good that there aren’t any, which I don’t really give a fuck about but I’m quite surprised by her hypocrisy.
Kidomega123
@Lvng1tor: I’m just participating in the conversation. If you’re enlightened or educated in the process, then cool. If not, then that’s also cool too *smiley face*. I dont pretend to know everything. Never claimed that I did. But, if you’re telling people to take their opinions someplace else (which you have done, several times now), then I dont know *how else* to interpret that other than you trying to shout them down. I might not like what somebody says here, but I would never tell them to get the fuck out because this website doesn’t belong to me. I see that you post a lot on many of the articles; which means you’re a very opinionated individual. I dont mention this as a negavite; In fact, i think it’s GREAT! That means you’re engaged. And I genuinely appreciate that. But as the saying goes, opinions are like assholes, everybody has one. I’m using MY opinion to defend the people who were told to stop frequenting Queerty simply because they stated that they wanted to see more diversity in the articles that are published on this website. That’s my only agenda (at this time, lol). It’s NOTHING personal my good sir.
p.s. I think my argument style is anything but lazy. I like to think of myself as a pretty intelligent, thoughtful, and articulate individual.
Kidomega123
Since I’ve been fairly active on this comment thread, I suppose I should leave a comment about the actual article. Try to get things back on topic, LMAO. It is my *opinion* that these are NOT the hottest gay men in Hollywood. Not by a long shot.
And…. I love you all.
Black Pegasus
That Black guy on the list is really hot…
…oh wait.
DarkZephyr
@Dxley: I don’t “get my knickers in a bunch” when people “voice their opinions”, I “get my knickers in a bunch” when people spew transphobic hatred that is just like the hate that homophobes spew at us. The fact that you want to defend transphobic spewage as “opinion” makes you just as vile as homophobes, too. Its the same they say when they spew homophobia. “Its just my opinion!”
And I NEVER once said “its good that their aren’t any men of color”. I said that I am bored with the CONSTANT angsty race baiting and race trolling under articles that feature lists of white men. BIG difference. You compare my defense of our trans brothers and sisters against repulsive transphobes to angsty race trolling as if they are exactly the same thing. Not at all. If someone spewed r*cist remarks against our Black, Latino, Asian, etc. LGBT brothers and sisters I would be JUST as quick to defend them as I am in defending our Trans* brothers and sisters. And since you are SO intrigued with my posts here at Queerty, I am SURE that you noticed how I ALSO spoke against angsty word policing Trans* trolls here at Queerty too during the whole debate about the word “Tr*nny”. My issue with race baiting trolls does NOT mean I am r*cist just as my issue with Trans* word policing trolls does not make me transphobic. Your obsession with my posts should have given you a clue about that. Use the grey matter housed within your skull please.
DarkZephyr
@Black Pegasus: yawn
ChiChi Man
@Lvng1tor: Reading your hysterical comments makes me laugh. Truth be told, it really doesn’t matter what you think. The LGBT community is swiftly becoming more diverse and people of color will no longer put up with being invisible. That’s what’s happening. It’s inevitable. So you can be clueless, you can be insensitive, you can take your temporary privilege for granted. Within 5 years, sites like Queerty, polls like the one above, and people like you who stubbornly refuse to see a racially diverse world will be old and irrelevant.
DarkZephyr
@ChiChi Man: “The LGBT community is swiftly becoming more diverse and people of color will no longer put up with being invisible.”
I am not sure what you mean here. The “LGBT community is becoming more diverse”, more diverse than what? Its ALWAYS been diverse. Are you saying that somehow there are more LGBT people of color than there was in times past? I don’t agree. I think there have always been many LGBT people of color. If I have somehow misinterpreted your words, can you please clarify? Thanks in advance.
“people of color will no longer put up with being invisible.”
Being invisible? What is this “invisibility” that you speak of? The above set of photos is from Hot or Not and were voted on by the users of that site. Are you going to somehow storm people’s brains and force them to have wider, less narrow tastes than they currently do? Please explain, because if you hold some secret to MAKE people find you attractive I would like to be let in on that secret. I will join you in this crusade and make LGBT people more attracted to guys above 26 years of age who actually have a little hair on their bodies.
DarkZephyr
I want to make it clear that I personally find men of Color to be absolutely gorgeous and just as stunning as white men and I would be overjoyed if beautiful men of Color got more visibility at this site. What I take issue with is the bitchy, snippy way in which some posters have protested the prevalence of pictures of white men on this site. Its just gotten old as far as I am concerned and it JUST sucks the entertainment and fun out of it and turns EVERY article about hot guys into an unfriendly political debate that goes nowhere and only succeeds in creating Queerty enmities.
Dxley
Auntie DarkZephyr, I’m not obsessed with your posts, ma’am. You just reply to the comments some of us make about the LGB being one thing, and TIQ[ABC,XYZ] being another, and I just don’t forget very easily not by will, but because that’s how my brain functions. You’re always trying to force everyone to agree with you because you’re the oldest thing on Queerty and cannot accept that other people have their own opinions on everything and it makes you livid that these opinions don’t always match yours.
And by the way; Jonathan Bennett, Tom Daley and Matt Bomer for me — in that order 🙂
Tackle
@DarkZephyr: I find it really strange that you would take issue with some posters being, (as you say)”bitchy & snippy,” when you were the most bitchy/snippy of all the posters. And it’s odd behavior, kinda like loosing it online when a poster would take the time to respond 10 times to something that was not personally directed “towards” them. You DO NOT respond this way when [email protected] is directed towards Blacks. Since you claim to be so fare, and would do so likewise. And as far as the entertainment and fun being sucked out of this article, you did a great job in doing this. I bet if you would have just ignored their post, and not posted and posted and posted, this would not have continued on the way it did. We don’t always have to be so reactionary…
KamQueer
What I’m finding funny now is that there are these older white men being livid and not apologizing for being white, which no one asked you to. I’m white. I’m also an activist for equality among sexes, genders, races, etc. It’s still such a big issue in today’s day and age where people consider white to be the ideal race, and then discriminate against all other races, especially black men.
Older white men can cry all they want here, hide behind your screens, and try to validate their opinions. But at the end of the day, regardless of a stupid list, I’m still going to push the issues and fight for visibility for all races in the LGBT community.
On a personal preference, I find men of all races attractive. But I’ve come to learn that white men are typically the worst in terms of their presence and still believing in ideals that society set in the fifties.
rickyboi7
Matt Bomer not at the top of the list? sounds f**ked to me!
xanderthread
@DarkZephyr: @DarkZephyr: Tell this to the gay men with WHITES ONLY on their profile.. I Love how WHITE PEOPLE tell all other people how we should feel about our race… White privilege much??? It is bs that this has not one guy of color on it. It is ridiculous how gay white men talk to black men:
“is it true what they say about black guys?”
“I only like thug guys.”
“I want your n word c*ok!”
Seriously people wake the fuck up gay white dudes do not like black men and they never will. They will always think they are better than us… Case and point this guy who thinks telling us we aren’t being offended.
hex0
@KamQueer:
I would love to see Michael Sam and Frank Ocean on these lists, yet I’m still [email protected] apparently…
I know it wasn’t you but I do feel that some people are over reactional at times because there’s no men of color on the list, one which queerty didn’t compile and the majority of us are disagreeing with (and somehow we’re displaying white privilege…).
@xanderthread:
Men who put “white only” in their profiles are douchebags, it’s a good way to know who to block and ignore. Your second argument is a strawman.
DarkZephyr
@Tackle: “You DO NOT respond this way when [email protected] is directed towards Blacks.”
This is extremely false, I DO respond this way when I see such racism. I hate racism in ANY form that it takes. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you simply see what you want to see and are not trying to outright lie.
“I bet if you would have just ignored their post, and not posted and posted and posted, this would not have continued on the way it did. We don’t always have to be so reactionary…”
A part of me wishes that I HAD ignored it. That being said, the same could be said for you and a lot of the post wars you have gotten into on here. Are you actually telling me that you have NEVER been involved in lively (and even hostile) debates and arguments on Queerty.com? Because I have seen quite a few of them myself that you have taken part in. I have ignored the race baiting here at Queerty.com for YEARS Tackle. I finally got fed up with it. Sorry. I will *not* be made to feel ashamed for expressing how I feel about it however.
@KamQueer: “Older white men” Ah. Now you are age trolling. You want more representation for men of Color but attack “older” gay men which is about as typical in the gay community as the disinterest in men of Color if not MORE so. Its not something I, as a 37 year old man whine about much but I will mention it when people like you act like ugly warty hypocrites.
@xanderthread: I am not telling you how “you should feel”. I am telling you how annoying angsty posts are when they appear several times under EVERY article that has only white men listed. Feel how you will but don’t expect annoying comments you might make about it to somehow magically NOT be annoying just because you are lying and accusing me of telling you HOW to feel.
“is it true what they say about black guys?”
“I only like thug guys.”
“I want your n word c*ok!”
I agree with you that race fetishizing is reprehensible, but are you HONESTLY trying to convince somebody that white guys are the ONLY ones guilty of this? Do you know how many times I have gotten messages that read “Can I put my big chocolate c*ck up your sweet white a**?” And that is the OPENING line! Or “How would you like for some rich dark chocolate to be poured over your vanilla body?” These are things that have REALLY been said to me! Or even on THIS SITE with the article that pictured Michael Sam lovingly kissing his white boyfriend (who CLEARLY does NOT hate black guys) where Michael Sam was accused of “playing in the snow”? You have self-serving blinders on, kid.
“Seriously people wake the fuck up gay white dudes do not like black men and they never will. They will always think they are better than us… Case and point this guy who thinks telling us we aren’t being offended.”
Oh please, you have NO moral high ground here when you make a r*cist statement like this. Calm your hysterics. This statement is not only r*cist, its pretty damned DUMB when there are countless successful mixed relationships with white and black gay men that exist.
And stop accusing me of telling you how to feel, I am NOT doing that. Expressing my annoyance at annoying posts is nowhere even close to telling someone how they should feel about something. Your histrionics and absurdly false accusations of r*cism designed SPECIFICALLY to shut me up, shut me down and shame me are doing NOTHING to make posts like yours less annoying, I promise you that.
I am not defending the losers who put “no blacks” in their profiles (and SOME of those douche bags ARE black men and other men of color btw). That is not what this is about. I don’t have to justify myself to you, but I am not r*cist and I do not hate black men AT ALL. I date black men, I have been in relationships with black men, my gorgeous fiance is actually of mixed heritage. And like many Americans, I am not 100% white myself and am quite proud of my non-white heritage as small a percentage as it may be of my overall ethnic make-up, though I shouldn’t have to declare that any time I express MY feelings and opinions. But when kids like you make ill-informed, authentically r*cist assumptions about people, sometimes it has to be done.
I am truly sorry that there are so many superficial r*cist f*cks in the gay community. Despite what Tackle seems to think, I actually do speak out against this regularly. Maybe not always here at Queerty because frankly I have not *personally* seen as much r*cist commentary here as I have Transphobic commentary and when I HAVE seen r*cist commentary I promise you that I HAVE spoken up. I am not insensitive and blind to it. And I have certainly drooled over plenty of men of Color here though. Those posts of mine are pretty darn frequent. Anyway, you are going to believe and feel about me what you will. Have a good weekend.
LuckyboyLA
Wow ,things are so splintered these days. ‘Phobic’ this and that. Maybe LGBT are too many letters to fit in one tent. The ‘B’s and ‘L’s seem pretty quiescent, but those ‘G’s’ and ‘T’s throw a lot of shade back and forth. What gives? When I was a young little fucker, I used to joke I was a ‘Size AND Color
Queen’. I liked men all sizes and all colors. Still am. You show me a country, and I’ll show you the sexy men. It’s in his eyes, how he carry’s himself, how he speaks, the way he smiles, how he looks at you. Yes..how he looks. But what too many gay men are doing is projecting themselves on to an idealized ‘other’ they want to be.
tdx3fan
@WhyteRabbit: Judging from this list, I would have to say that the average users of this site/app/whatever is 55 and they (the users) are all white males.
tdx3fan
@Mezaien: Not everyone desires to look like a muscle head or a 12 year old boy. Some men actually prefer to have some meat on their bones. Some men actually prefer to be with someone that doesn’t look like a muscle head or 12 year old boy. If my boyfriend needs to spend more time at the gym than with me, he might have a problem.
Maybe you should preference your remarks with… I PREFER instead of generalizing it to the entire world.
tdx3fan
@DarkZephyr: No one has posted the argument that white men are ugly or hideous or repulsive. They simply posted the argument that they are tired of being entirely ignored by the predominate white male. Personally, I find about 1 in 100 black males to be very attractive. Not saying there are not attractive black males, but I just normally prefer white or Hispanic guys. However, I completely understand people not appreciating the implied racism in such a list.
tdx3fan
@Res1: The “gay community” does not exist. I would hope that you would not avoid activities that you found interesting based on your sole perception of what someone doing it is like or is not like.
tdx3fan
@Lvng1tor: White privilege is about as real as Black victimization complex. Neither really exists. Its all perspective. Sure, an affluent white person might have it easier than a lower SES black person, but that that is because the real language people see in such situation is green. Put a black wealthy male up against a lower SES white male any single day and you see how futile the argument that all black people have it harder than all white people really is.

@tdx3fan: Put a middle class white person up against a middle class black person and you’d see how stupid your entire argument sounds. Priviledge does exist, but the fact that a queerty commenter is ignorant of this shouldn’t surprise me.

@Kidomega123:
Just to clarify….I said the ones who complain over and over and over again and then say for the billionth time they are done with queerty that no one was forcing them to be here. It’s gotten to be like a canned response on any story that doesn’t feature the diversity they want to see. However, when queerty does run a diverse story they are nowhere to be seen. Its like a bad running joke from some of the commentators.
I thought feedback on diversity to queerty is good. (but some are “persecuted” by the lack….from a list that was formed not on queerty?) I also suggested that these guys link us to a site where the lists what you are looking to see or start your own site.
I never said the only option was to go to another site…just that queerty had no obligation to honor yours or others requests and that you had no obligation to come on the site. Tell me how you formed an entire response from you having some choices and giving examples of courses your could take to rectify your issues saying that I’m shouting people down. That and only telling people to like it or get out? That’s why your argument is lazy. Yes it’s a massive run on sentence but it relay’s my frustration with your continued responses.
Also, I think yo are intelligent. Otherwise I’d have just mocked you or not responded at all. I just don’t think you truly took time to read or understand what I was saying. Look it’s a tough subject. If I offended you or came off [email protected]!st (offended beyond the snarky you’re lazy comments…just your argument not you) let me know how.

@ChiChi Man: How do I refuse to see a diverse world? You couldn’t have taken the time to even read or understand what I said ….seriously get off it. Take your [email protected]!st labeling somewhere else. Wrong tree here bud!

@tdx3fan: I know that nobody is saying that white men are hideous. And I can also understand them wishing to see more diversity. What I have taken issue with is the WAY many of them express it and with the frequency that they do it. It’s become quite a broken record. @Lvng1tor: Has said it better than I have however.

@Black Pegasus: I see what you did there 🙂

@Tackle: You certainly lived up to your name with this post!

@DarkZephyr: If people talking about discrimination begin to sound like a broken record, maybe it’s because there’s a real problem. When people are invisible in the media, telling them to be quiet about it is just going to make them more invisible, exacerbating the problem. Crying out that there’s racial discrimination could very well be their way to feel less invisible. I think everybody deserves a shot at undoing racism in the moment, while it’s happening. Maybe then it can stop being such a large scale, pervasive thing.
