He may not have nabbed that Emmy nomination for Best Comedy Guest Actor, but Pete Buttigieg‘s career in show biz isn’t over yet.
Sort of.
The former South Bend, Indiana mayor and 2016 contender in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary has announced his latest frontier: the wide world of podcasting.
Buttigieg inked a 20-episode deal with the iHeartPodcast Network which will stream on all the major podcasting hubs.
How about we take this to the next level?

The Deciding Decade with Pete Buttigieg premieres September 9 with inaugural guest former federal prosecutor Preet Bharara.
Other guests will include activists, politicians, scholars, authors and entertainers, though the focus will remain on the most pressing issues facing the nation in the next ten years.
“The choices we make in the months and years ahead will define America for decades to come. I’m eager to have honest, intimate conversations about the challenges facing us and the ways we can respond with so many individuals I admire,” said Buttigieg.
This has been a year of chaos and pain, but this moment also holds the potential of leading toward a new and much better chapter.

I may be the oddball, but I never particularly had any positive or negative opinion of him. He never stood out, never had any particular draw, and tried to cast himself as progressive when most of his actions, when you looked at them, were middle of the road. He was just…meh.
desertguy
If you are an oddball, then so am I. I never really understood the whole Pete Buttigieg train. He’s gay. So what? So am I and so are a lot of other people. Just always thought of him along the lines of milk toast. Just there occupying space.
Liquid Silver
Thanks, Deserguy. I felt kind of alone and got yelled at online sometimes because I just couldn’t jump on the Pete train. “But he’s so smart!” He kind of felt like he was just BS-ing answers, actually, or simply using Really Big Words to sound like the smart one in the room.
When pressed, the words got bigger, the sentences got longer, and I rolled my eyes because the semantic value kept dropping and I didn’t feel like there was much happening.
The level of disorganization in the campaign was another matter.
WashDrySpin
I am seriously starting to consider the fact that Pete was just to “normal and intelligent” for a LOT of gay men. Many gay wanted someone to stand out (flamboyant), someone that they could sexualize and lastly someone who spoke with less intelligence on matters as so that they could understand him!
Oh the gay community that place that can be as oppressive and repressive as the straight world
Liquid Silver
Backhanded insults will get you nowhere, ‘Spin. The problem was, I could interpret what he was saying and, all too frequently, it was stuffed with BS. When questioned, the syllable count increased while the actual meaning decreased.
My problem was that I’m not easily fooled and, to return the insult, I’m sorry that you are so easily bamboozled. It proves once again that one’s opponents tend to accuse one of the thing they are so often guilty of–low intellect, in this instance.
WashDrySpin
Liquid, your viewpoint is off in regard to Pete as when you are pressed on a question you have to add more details to explain yourself. The sad truth is you and many others were not happy with Pete for some if not all of the reasons I listed.
Also please provide an example of what you are sharing via a link…you can list the title of it and where to find it on say Youtube
Liquid Silver
So you can scream “No, wrong, no, wrong” and waste my time as you’re already trying to do? Pass. Never feed trolls. And I’m more than smart enough to see that and tell when somebody’s simply doubling down without a valid argument. Goodbye now.
Beachman
LOL…obviously none of you idiots have ever listened to his speeches, or interviews. I love social media…it gives voice to idiots like yourself. I find you all so transparent….he’s not ‘hot’ so you can’t get ‘into him’. Pete’s just ‘meh’….he’s like milquetoast. Compared to what? Are you f$%C&ing kidding me? With voters like you its easy to understand how we have a moron like Donald Trump in the White House. You all should be ashamed of yourselves….
Liquid Silver
And apparently the trolls have multiple accounts and repeat themselves. No, he’s not hot. Neither is Biden. I voted for Biden, he has experience. Pete doesn’t, he’s the mayor of a small city with no Federal experience.
ORPHEUS
Pete Buttigieg should have great and substantive fun with this new and present incarnation of his political career. Not only do I envision many captivating topics and engaging guests, but I predict that there shall–also–be a plethora of audience members drawn to the podcasts as owing to their own, intelligent-interests. Therefore, entertainments are practically guaranteed.

I’d rather have a spike driven through my head. He’s a cheating rat.
WashDrySpin
Buttigieg went from a midwest mayor to Democrat darling overnight. He’s weathered complaints from all sides and grappled on the national stage over whether his sexuality is his defining trait.
Buttigieg is blessed and cursed to be a symbol of the community, and as much as we yawn at his iron-pressed white shirts, to see a gay man soar in an America so fractured – that can only be described as remarkable.”
jkb
Now we have basic queens who fawn over him being gay in politics and Indifferent to him being a horrible person. Way to represent!

Good for you Mayor Pete. I look forward to what you can offer in the future as well.

I already have my computer set up with the website as one of my favorites. Yeah! I am looking forward to listening and watching.
