The cosmic confab known as San Diego Comic-Con 2012 has rocketed to its conclusion, but fans are still processing all the movie trailers and entertainment news revealed at the massive pop-culture gathering. The real fun part of Comic-Con, though, is the fans themselvesāmany of whom dress up in inventive costumes inspired by comics, films, TV shows, anime and more.
And if you think all pop-culture geeks look like Comic Book Guy, you got another thing coming!

I can understand why comic purists are pissy about the way that San Diego Comic Con has evolved, but if they had it their way Comic Con would be nothing but an undecorated exhibition hall lined with boxes and boxes of moldy comics from the Silver Age, and maybe a Star Trek panel.
SDCC is now a multi-industry event that has gained international attention and attendance. Given the choice between the purist version and the current version, I know which one is more appealing to me.
If you don’t like it then try Wondercon.
