The Real O’Neals had definitely been one of this spring’s breakout TV comedies. Now that the ABC sitcom — about the everyday foibles of a Catholic family after their middle son comes out as gay — has been picked up for a second season, star Noah Galvin is well on his way to becoming one of the most unabashedly opinionated young actors in Hollywood. In an interview with New York Magazine’s Vulture.com, the out and loud 22-year-old reads everyone from Eric Stonestreet to Bryan Singer for filth.
Clearly some of Real O’Neals executive producer Dan Savage’s unapologetic candor has rubbed off on Galvin. He makes no bones about the fact that being out has cost him at least 1 role.
“People in L.A., producers and casting directors, are not the most creative. … So when they see me play this character, they’re like, Oh, he’s really good at playing the funny gay kid. That’s what he does. Let’s have him do more of that! …
“One producer who watches our show was like, But he’s too gay. It was horrible. It made me feel so shitty.”
From there the dish just gets dishier and the shade gets shadier. Galvin has no patience for L.A.’s vapid, closeted actors or the party boys of WeHo. And his description of Hollywood’s gay network is priceless: “Bryan Singer likes to invite little boys over to his pool and diddle them in the fucking dark of night.”
Meanwhile he calls Colton Haynes “the worst” for talking about coming out while never actually saying that he’s gay:
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
“That’s not coming out. That’s fucking pussy bullshit. That’s like, enough people assume that I sleep with men, so I’m just going to slightly confirm the fact that I’ve sucked a dick or two. That’s not doing anything for the little gays but giving them more masturbation material.”
Related: Colton Haynes Opens Up Honestly About His Sexuality And His Health
He also cops to throwing Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet under the bus more than once: “He’s playing a caricature of a caricature of a stereotype of stereotype on Modern Family. And he’s a straight man in real life. And as hilarious as that character is, there’s a lack of authenticity.”
All gossip aside, probably one of the most interesting parts of the interview is when Galvin talks about the way he performs his character’s gayness. He describes the “ebb and flow” of Kenny’s flamboyance in terms of code switching, comparing it to the way he performs his own gender and sexuality in real life: “It depends on who you’re with. If I’m with a bunch of gays, I’m going to be like, Yas queen! Yas, yas, yas! But when I’m with my brothers and we’re wrestling, I’m going to bro out. And I want Kenny to be that.”
GC1985
He certainly has some strong opinions and is entitled to them, but he does make a point. Many come out proudly before anyone suspects. Others choose to hide and come out when others already have. Sometimes circumstances make it difficult to come out, but riding on the coattails of others is indeed cowardly bullsh*t. I see it even on here with some of the masc4masc types not even comfortable in their own skin.
SnakeyJ
He’s young and a hot commodity right now so he’s being brash. I think when he’s older, he’ll look back and feel embarrassed for talking smack about Colton Hayes and Eric Stonestreet. There is no right way to come out. It all depends on their circumstance and level of comfort. I don’t think Colton was ever truly trying to hide it, just not acknowledge it. No one owes anyone anything when it comes to coming out. And I’m not a fan of Modern Family, but Eric’s performance as a “stereotype” is fine. There actually ARE people like that, why not show them off. This kid kinda contradicts himself when he slams Eric’s Modern Family character as a caricature but then he ends up saying he wants to gay it up and then be butch when the mood fits. Isn’t that just modifying your personality based on the circumstances surrounding you?
Paco
The interview where the studio makes him walk back his Bryan Singer comment is incoming in 3…2…1
He probably killed future roles for himself with this interview.
DarkZephyr
Love him but yeah I have to agree with Paco. I don’t think he made a very great career move here.
Xzamilio
What the hell, man?? How many times do I have to post a comment before it appears??
MacAdvisor
Quibble: “after their middle son comes out as gay”
Mr. Galvin plays the YOUNGEST son and the middle CHILD. There are not three male children in the family.
I think his remarks well display his youth.
DCguy
Why won’t comments post? There is no note that any terms of service words were flagged, the comment just disappears. What’s up??
redcarpet30
If you imagine him with a glass of vodka, sunglasses, a cigarette, and the voice of Elaine Stritch the interview makes so much more sense!
DCguy
Totally agree with him and thank God somebody in Hollywood is finally saying SOMETHING.
Remember, when Modern Family’s Stonestreet spoke out after people complained that the gay couple never ever acted like they even liked each other, he told people to basically shut up because they were lucky any show bothered to have a gay couple on it. And Hollywood responded to his comment by giving him an emmy that year.
So preach on Noah!
da90027
Honesty is not appreciated in Hollywood or Washington. I’ve lived in Los Angeles all of my 55 years and it is full of phonies and hypocrites. No one tells the truth here and never to your face.
Doughosier
Ok, I love him more after reading this. How nice to have a star speaking frankly.
Matt Achine
Aside from the nauseating blow job on Dan Savage’s ego, the interview was a good read. Nobody would care if he spit out more boring publicist drivel. He seems to be happier in NY doing theater anyway, away from the fakery in Hollywood. He bore his soul without a slutty photo shoot attached, what a concept!
MacAdvisor
@da90027:
da90027: Why on Earth would you want to live in a place where people tell you the truth to your face? It sounds positively cruel. The truth about one self needs to be sidled up to slowly and not starred at directly.
Stache
@Paco: Singer just got done with a lawsuit from one of his past little boys he diddled so this guy better be careful.
jheryn
First I’ll say that I am glad he speaks his mind, however I don’t agree with some of his assessments.
Colton has said that he has been out for most of his life to those closest to him. He never claimed to be in the closet. He just didn’t feel it necessary to share his sexual preference with the world. There is nothing wrong with that just as there is nothing wrong with him sharing it when he chose to do so. He chose the right time for him to open up to the general public.
We all know that things like this are very personal. I am out but I don’t stop everyone that I pass on the street and say, “I’m bisexual. I feel it is my LGBT imperative to let anyone and everyone know. Sorry I didn’t have my rainbow shirt on while in public view.”
As far as Eric Stonestreet. He has been a very good friend to the LGBT community. It is sad to me that we want to tear him down in any way for that.
This kid has a right to his opinions, but attacking those in our own community and friends of our community is not very wise. In fact, to me, it is a little douchey.
MANSUMM
Wow, does this guy have no filter. I think he needs to be more worried about his mouth costing him roles.
Paco
@Stache: The kid is certainly brave for talking smack about people higher up in the Hollywood food chain. Not very bright, but brave.
I suspect this will be the last refreshingly candid interview he is ever allowed to give. Scripted responses from now on. LOL.
dean089
Our local community center has the motto “You are not alone.” I always thought the subtitle should be “You won’t know what ‘alone’ is until you try to join the gay community without following all the rules.” Colton Haynes’ business is not Noah Galvin’s business. Can’t a person just be gay without the parade? Pu-leeze.
BTW, “The Real O’Neals” is a cute show but Noah Galvin’s over-the-top stereotypical character is my least favorite part of the show. Between his TV character and his little tirade here all he does is prove that the gay ‘community’ only wants one kind of gay and all others need not apply.
DCguy
@dean089:
Oh give it a rest. When Haynes is giving interviews and being public about something that this kid deals with also every day he doesn’t get to claim invasion of privacy.
If Jessica Alba for example, had maybe lied about being Mexican for years, and then kinda sorta revealed it, please don’t pretend that it isn’t legitimate for other Mexican Actresses to be irritated by it.
But lets see, you don’t like the kid because he is over the top, and you think Haynes should be able to stay in the closet. Ok, I think I get your agenda.
PRINCE OF SNARKNESS aka DIVKID
And lo and behold he did solemnly utter the sacred and inviolable magik incantation (being most anxiously solicitous of its precise formula — for it be strong magik!) unto the heavens : ” THY ART GAAAAAY!!!” and on the instant did the clouds rent asunder sending forth a mighty rainbowe to embolden the timid hearts of the small fey folk suddenly no more afeared …because of that magikal three word spell
PRINCE OF SNARKNESS aka DIVKID
* Thou not Thy
Steven
Galvin is entitled to his opinion but he’s wrong. Every person is entitled to come out however, whenever and for whatever reason is right for them. You can’t judge a person by how they choose to come out. It’s a very personal thing.
I love Noah and the show but he’s wrong on this.
cavasa22
his comments are ofensive. No one os obliged to “come out”, this is a very personal choice, and as a gay man he should be respectful of other gay men choices. If we ask heterosexuals to respect us, we should do the same between us. the show is not that good, it hurts me to see such a talented actress Martha Plimpton playing this caricature of a forgettable roll.
DCguy
@Steven:
@cavasa22:
So what I see is the two of you attacking the one new out of the closet actor out there, and defending the closet.
Haynes was out, did interviews and a photo spread in a gay magazine with his then boyfriend, and only went back in later to go into the hollywood glass closet. This is not some person who didn’t deal with the fact they were gay while working in a Wal Mart until they were 40.
woodroad34
@redcarpet30: I was thinking more along the lines of Nellie Olsen from Little House on the Prairie or Jan from “The Brady Brunch” always ragging on Marcia.
joeyty
Self-hating mick.
DCguy
@joeyty:
So the guy who defends right wingers on here doesn’t like the actor who is out AND uses a racial pejorative on him.
Let me guess, Trump supporter?
Josh447
Wow, Colton’s a good guy, honest sincere and a GREAT actor. To attack him like this newbie kid did is pretty nasty and a terrible career move. Judgemental much kid? Total turn off. I really like him in his new role but this definitely stains his image for me. I won’t look at him the same way again.
joeyty
@DCguy: I do support a lot of what Trump claims he stands for. And I can’t stand anti-Irish gays who think it gives them class to look down on certain ethnicities unless they have a legitimate claim to that.
PRINCE OF SNARKNESS aka DIVKID
Wait.. have I got this right? Lil’ sassy lbitch here only got his “big break” precisely and only because some casting director saw his lil’ sassy bitch qualities potential …his metier, clearly… and which is his very raison d’etre for ANY kind of recognition …so what exactly was he risking that is anyway comparable with to the Mangod Colto?!?
GC1985
@joeyty: You are as delusional as Trump. Braindead too. I can’t stand antidemocratic thugs like you.
@dean089: Like the straight acting ones people here defend full stop? Like Tovey?
Seems like the gays here hate more outgoing and/or feminine gay men. Too offensive for their senses right?
joeyty
@PRINCE OF SNARKNESS aka DIVKID: Yeah, that doesn’t make sense either. A good reminder of Truman Capote saying “Most actors are stupid.”
DCguy
@joeyty:
Oh nice pivot, you attacked him for basically being out, and YOU used an anti-Irish slur on him.
And of course you support Trump, he said he would appoint Supreme Court justices that would strip away gay rights.
@Josh447:
And as for your comment, the kid is OUT, at the beginning of his career, didn’t go back in the closet like Haynes or threaten to sue websites that ran the old article of him from the gay magazine. If more actors were like this Hollywood wouldn’t be such a hotbed of anti-LGBT hate.
joeyty
@DCguy: Yup. And I pivot and whack you again.
Ander
Yep, he sounds very 22 years old.
Hopefully that bullet hole through his arch will heal up over time.
Captain Obvious
While I wanted to bash him for the hypocrisy of being on a Dan Savage show while bashing others… I do totally agree with him about Bryan Singer. That guy goes after underage/barely legal guys all the time and people DEFEND him because they like stupid X-men movies.
The entire cast is now practically all kids and people still act like they don’t see it. I’v’e actually had people act like they just realized it when I’ve brought it up… it’s right in their faces on screen.
He killed off multiple characters just to recast the roles for children he wants to sleep with.
The new cast has some very bitchy queens in it who appear to hate their female cast members. I wonder if they’ll keep that same stink eye when Bryan has moved on to someone younger.
Anyway this kid’s opinions really won’t get him anywhere in Hollyweird but that’s it a good thing because it’s full of pedophiles, closeted queens, the mob(thanks to porn), and much more.
Everyone is freaking out about that rapist who got 6 months when there are absolute freaks in Hollywood who’ve never so much as been to court.
DCguy
@joeyty:
Just to reiterate, you attack this guy for being out and for being Irish, and you support Donald Trump, and defend the closet. Ok, got it.
joeyty
@DCguy: You hate Trump because you want the borders open to more Muslim refugee homophobes as Hillary has assured us. Self-hating.
DCguy
@joeyty:
Blah Blah Blah Blah. You attack this actor for being out and for being Irish, and you support a man who has stated categorically that he will appoint judges who will attack LGBT rights. The definition of self hating.
Oh, but the FOX News fear mongering of the big bad Muslim boogeyman was sure effective. Oh wait, no it wasn’t.
Look, I get it, you are a Log Cabin troll, you shill for a party that hates you, so you have incorporated self hate into your life. Fine, but don’t drag all of your baggage to the airport and expect the rest of us to carry it for you.
joeyty
@DCguy: It wasn’t Fox that told me 52 percent of Muslims just polled in the UK want homosexuality to be illegal. Yet you want MORE of them in the U.S. ?
joeyty
@DCguy: The silly mick probably thinks the gay community is laughing with him when they’re just laughing AT him. Unless he’s a lot sharper than I realize and is laughing/crying all the way to the bank.
DCguy
@joeyty:
And again, you support a man who wants to strip away civil rights, attack people for not being closeted and keep using the standard FOX News boogeyman of “Don’t pay any attention to the real people trying to attack you, here, look at this scary thing over here!”
So again, give it up troll, supporting people who hate you is your own choice, but your desperation to prove you aren’t “One of Those Gays” to them must be exhausting. As is walking up those back stairs because they won’t let you in through the front door.
But it’s ok, I’m sure that your parents grudgingly accept you as long as you make one anti-gay comment at the dinner table each night.
joeyty
@DCguy: You support people who actually want to punish you with inprisonment or death if you commit a sexual act with a member of the same sex. You actually want to watch others getting convicted and sentenced for it as foreplay to you yourself getting busted as some weird self-destructive erotic ritual. (And you’re not strong enough to carry my bags).
SPDuffy
He’s so right about Eric Stonestreet.
He BGB
I remember Harvey Fierstein saying in the documentary Celluloid Closet that personally he liked the big sissy stereotype in film that everyone is complaining about and I see his point (i,e., like Eric Stonestreet in Modern Family). I stopped watching MF after the cute kids grew up but that’s another story.
I didn’t like the Real O’NEALs at first but have grown to enjoy it. I like that the straight older brother is so cool and helps him date guys, etc., which I wonder where Dan Savage got that idea instead of the jerk older brother.
Anyway I don’t know Colton Haynes only thru this website and will have to Google Bryan Singer now.
joeyty
@DCguy: “but your desperation to prove you aren’t “One of Those Gays” to them must be exhausting. As is walking up those back stairs because they won’t let you in through the front door.” My parents ? If I even let them come to my place I’d force them to use the back door. And if they dared come in the front I’d drop-kick them both back outside.
joeyty
@He BGB: “Anyway I don’t know Colton Haynes only thru this website and will have to Google Bryan Singer now” When you look him up look up these kinda-hot-but-creepy-looking gothy twins who he had living with him. I forget their names.
footwork61
I will try to remember he’s only 22 and an industry newbie. Otherwise I might call him a self-important douche. I’m pretty sure I thought I too had all the proper opinions when I was 22.
DCguy
@joeyty:
And again, you support a real threat to who you are because he claims he will attack a boogeyman.
Please, by all means, keep defending the closet and supporting LGBT hating politicians.
DCguy
@footwork61:
By all means, lets instead look to the opinions of the old Studio and Publicists who are bigoted and force their actors to stay in the closet.
mujerado
Anyone who publicly criticizes the manner or timing of someone else’s coming out is being a self-important asshole.
kevininbuffalo
@mujerado: Yes and there’s a lot of them around here.
OzJosh
He is 100% right on all points. Particularly Eric Stonestreet. It’s nauseating the way Modern Family and Hollywood in general continues to celebrate what amounts to the gay stereotype equivalent of black face. Sadly, Galvin will probably be punished for his honesty – something that Hollywood just doesn’t stand for.
GC1985
@joeyty: Hillary would manage immigration through real plans, fool. Immigration has fallen under Obama too and she said she wants to continue his legacy. Trump wants to build a wall. Where else is he going to build a wall? Along the coastline too? You can’t fix stupidity. Trump wants to make same sex marriage illegal and possibly prosecute you simply for being gay.
GC1985
@joeyty: You support a party that wants to prosecute and imprison you for being gay, dimwit.
meandtheminibar
That shit about Bryan Singer is true af though. Sorry not sorry.
ac
He is so right about some stuff- hold back the “don’t tell others when to come out”
Colton was modelling in gay mags before his tv career started and then they buried that stuff and put him in the closet to progress his career- his recent coming out isn’t the one that deserves accolades. If you go into a gay bar/ event feeling safe-it’s only bc of the out gays before you that paved the way with their bravery, not hiding it for their career. An honest coming out from Haynes would have been to acknowledge the fame/money decision behind it, glad he’s out but only happened when it was totally safe .
Love the Bryan singer dirt ;D
joeyty
@GC1985: You support a party that will see you dead, but I can’t call you a dimwit because that’s what you want.
joeyty
@GC1985: No, she basically calls for open borders. And even homophobia won’t negate the new immigrants from being allowed to pour in here. These new immigrants (homophobes and mass rapists like the refugees in the UK and Germany ) will actually make ones like YOU seem like useful additions to society.
joeyty
@DCguy: No…you are afraid of a Trump boogeyman only because the Gay Ghetto ordered you to think that way, while waving Muslims to “come on in” with a big grin on your face which will still be there when your head has been removed.
GameBoy
I like this guy, he can read a bitch like no other…..
Xzamilio
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand, the backpedaling…
http://instinctmagazine.com/post/noah-galvin-apologizes-bryan-singer-colton-haynes-comments
Paco
@Xzamilio: LOL! Looks like some training for interviews is in this kid’s future. Even the article at Vulture pulled the reference about Singer.
The silver lining in this is that he will be free to go back to the “healthy gay community” of New York after his career, oops I meant show, ends.
Ahh those silly young kids thinking they are immune from the politics of the establishment. Thanks for all the tasty salt for my popcorn, Noah.
Hussain-TheCanadian
Shouldn’t people be allowed to come out of the closet at their own paste?
Noah can act like a queen all she wants, but shes a maid next to Colton.
Masc Pride
More jack off material is all lots of the little gays want.
@Hussain-TheCanadian: I agree. People should totally be allowed to grow and discover themselves at their own pace. Sadly, the oppressed have rather proudly become the oppressors.
Blackceo
I appreciate Noah’s overall genuineness and I don’t give a fuck attitude. The only issue with the article I had was about Colton Haynes. Everyone’s coming out is their own and there shouldn’t be some criteria necessary to satisfy other gays.
Some of this I’m gonna chalk up to him being a novice to the inner workings of Hollywood and how being too candid can get you blackballed, but I still appreciated his candor. Oh and I can’t stand Dan Savage so not in agreement with that either.
As for the Bryan Singer comments, when I saw the article earlier this afternoon I was like wow good for u Noah. He wasn’t spilling anything that isn’t well known about Singer’s pedophile ass. There are pictures of his infamous think pool parties and he has been accused publicly of sexually assaulting an underage boy. The forced retraction in my mind makes Hollywood complicit in Singer’s nastiness. Galvin didn’t say anything we haven’t all heard about Singer.
But I bet lawyers got involved and Noah was forced to retract. I like The Real O’Neals and hope this doesn’t hurt his future aspirations.
Blackceo
Meant to say TWINK pool parties. Come on autocorrect get with the times.
Chris
This kid’s comments were hurtful and, in Singer’s case, bordered on libelous since he has no proof. I’m glad that someone wised him up and ghost-wrote an almost-sincere sounding apology for him to tweet.
joeyty
He’s apologizing like crazy now. And not to Catholics nor to Irish-Americans, who he insults all the time. He’s apologizng to Bryan Singer and Hollywood and Haynes. He’s pathetic.
DuMaurier
@joeyty: Yeah, I just went online and his grovelling mea culpa was almost the first thing I saw. Kind of pulls the rug out from under the defenders of his “brave honesty”.
oliver_lockwood
DAMMMMN… Noah didn’t just announce the flood, he caused it. (Spill some T, throw some shade.) Lord, this new possible feud is a reminder of Dustin Lance Black’s and Sam Smith’s back around Oscar time… (So Imma grab some popcorn, brb.)
On a serious note after reading the entire interview, I agree with Noah on some points, specifically the much needed diversity and transitioning away from the singular portrayal of gays in Hollywood. Given his age and current standing in the proverbial Hollywood food chain, I don’t think that anyone with influence in Hollywood would take him seriously. As for his career, it could be really good for him or really bad, Unfortunately no middle ground. (I hope he’s business minded to be like a Kardashian and twist this to his advantage.)
oliver_lockwood
Whaat? there’s an apology? really? massive eye roll.
BGinBigD
Let me git right to the point. Miss Galvin is an extremely nellie, vicious queen!!! I want to give her a break since she’s young, but I won’t. Miss Thang, as I shall now refer to her, is absolutely jealous of EVERYONE. Colton Haynes has a right to come out however he wants. He certainly doesn’t need advice from Miss Thang concerning life, acting or whatever. It’s so easy to criticize good looking, talented people when you look and act like Miss Thang. And for her to criticize Eric Broadstreet on his acting ability in a role that could have had devastating effects on his career if it were in another era, that’s just stupid. Let’s see how many Emmys Miss Thang collects before she passes out judgement to anyone, gay or straight. And one more thing, Miss Thang, the Hollywood producers and directors probably do have it right: you are extremely effeminate, your body ain’t a work of art, and you have a loud mouth. Children should be seen, not heard, especially when they are jealous, bitter queens.
GC1985
@joeyty: You prove you don’t know what you are talking about. Please go and read her actual policy position. Trumps policies would create blowback. We would end up with even more refugees. You are too ignorant to discuss these complex matters. You think building a stupid wall will solve everything.
@joeyty: you don’t have any justification as to why you support him. The man is a blithering idiot who doesn’t know anything about foreign policy.
Hillary eviscerated him in the recent speeches she has given… Going right at him. His response was f*cking weak. If that is all he can respond with, he is done. Hillary isn’t just another weak sh*t republican.
GC1985
Trump is a weak ass and you know it. In recent days he has looked utterly pathetic and can’t even unite his own party. He wasted a whole month doing nothing. After Hillary gave a commanding policy speech appealing to millions, Trump couldn’t even respond. It is the beginning of the end of the GOP.
Anyways back to Noah… He should have stuck to his statement. Obviously his agent probably told him to backpedal. Sometimes the truth hurts. Ask Joeyty what hearing the truth feels like.
joeyty
@GC1985: But even if Trump isn’t as smart as Hillary, I still want the candidate on the side of gay Americans. Hillary might be smarter, but would quickly see me dead.
joeyty
@GC1985: “You think building a stupid wall will solve everything” No, I disagree with anyone’s idea to build a wall. Not that he plans to do that, anyway, but… The country certainly doesn’t need a physical wall to go ahead with actions to remove guys like you and keep you from returning.
GC1985
@joeyty: Actually Trump wants to make being gay a crime. You just don’t get it.
@joeyty: Except I am a US citizen you psychopath. You wouldnt say half of this shit to my face. As I said I don’t have time for a sewer rat like you.
GC1985
And who the fuck are you to talk to me like that? You disgraceful little fool. You spend your time hiding behind a screen. Coward!
joeyty
@GC1985: I WILL say it to your face. But you wouldn’t even call me when I gave my number. Even if you ARE a citizen, it’s possible to revoke the citizenship of someone who…hasn’t added anything to the country nor kept up the standards, you know. What have you added ? Look at your record. You’ve caused nothing but harm to others. Look at your involvement in the San Bernardino massacre. Did you contact ANY of the family members afterwards to apologize? Or just did your high-kicking dance of joy, as usual ?
GC1985
@joeyty: I work for a living, you little coward. What the fuck do you do asides from troll this site 24/7? You don’t even have a job and you have never paid taxes. And your suggestion that I was in anyway involved that tragedy is enough! I am not going to fall for that.
You are a disgraceful little bitch who doesn’t have the courage to say what you are saying.
And yes I am all for revoking your citizenship and tossing you on an island.
GC1985
I also highly doubt you would say any of this to my face. Do us all a favor… Get yourself euthanized.

Been to a Singer party, but it was almost ten years ago. Kind of gross that it appears he is still having them the same way they used to be… Good times were had by me. Attractive and somewhat interesting crowd. And no it wasn’t just twinks. “Hot” guys brought their friends, who weren’t necessarily “hot” themselves. I met some cool people. Probably left before the orgy though. When people start jumping in the pool with their clothes on … or see the first person puke … I call it a night.
Tanooki
I think this kid is entitled to his opinion, but I’m quickly growing tired of people within the LGBT community judging each other when it comes to race, masculinity/femininity, or how we handled coming out or how “gay” we present ourselves to others.
If we can only show each other intolerance and disrespect, then we can’t be shocked when our enemies do the same to us.
NateB79
He plays an awful, selfish person on the show. I’m not surprised to see that he’s a sh*t stain in real life too. How does someone that young get to decide the right way to come out? He’s lucky he isn’t living 30 years ago when major TV networks would barely put a gay character on TV and it was usually comedy relief. He’s lucky he gets to be young and open and judgmental in an era where millions before him had to stay in the closet or face devastating consequences. He needs to take a step back and take a long look in the mirror and come to terms with how he wants to be known in life, because he’s not headed in a good direction.
joeyty
@PRINCE OF SNARKNESS aka DIVKID: LOL. (I’d smoosh that Colombian queen).

AND This SOMEHOW gives this kid-child a free ticket to trash one of our most beautiful gifted and supportive out and proud gay assets? Wouldn’t that form of drival be more aptly suited for a raving homophobe rather than one of our out and proud own? Homophobes make Hollywood anti gay, not the victims. You seem a bit misdirected and lack understandings when it comes to “walking in another man’s shoes”.
RichieRichRocks
Gavin is apparently a total moron. The more of the articles I’m reading on the interview he gave makes me dislike him intensely. I hope they recast the part because I would never watch it with him in it and I liked the show this past season. How insensitive could this guy be?! He doesn’t get a pass for being young. He’s a 22 year old adult who will not have a career soon. You can’t take back hurtful words after they’re already in print no matter how many publicists write apologies and sign your name to them. He’s weak and much less talented than he thinks.

@Josh447: One of our most beautifully gifted? Speak for yourself. Gavin has a right to being honest. We are basically enabling more closeted repression. But I guess we just need to be one of the “guys”.

@Chris: The current cast of X-men is all the proof you need. If you need more then you don’t belong in the conversation. No one said anything slanderous. He spoke truth and the fact that you’re defending it is really sick. I bet you’re one of the same people who are outraged by Cosby but turn a blind eye to the fact that it’s what Hollywood was based on from the beginning.
This kid didn’t tell any lies. Singer was outed for exchanging roles in X-men for sex. Wake up.

I said he is beautiful and gifted, not “beautifully gifted”.
“Honest” and attacking are two different scenarios altogether. I will agree though, Gavin was honestly attacking.
GC1985
Agree with what? I never said anything about anyone attacking. I think Galvin could have been diplomatic, but Haynes is basically an enabler of the closet.
KDub
Nothing but common fag jealousy. Colton is conventionally hot and adored, and Noah is just the bitter little queen that knows and resents the fact that she will always be a “last call” bitch.
GC1985
@KDub: Bitter little queen? And you are…?
KDub
…not interested. 😉
GC1985
Ah yes, a bitter queen who bitches about gay people. The irony.
KDub
Don’t be so down on yourself! Granted, you’re not the most mentally stable individual, but I’m sure you have a redeeming quality somewhere deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, DEEP down inside.
Malcolm Forest
This guy is not very talented and he does NOT have the right to hurt other people.
Personally I just hope he goes and fraks himself. Colton Haynes was fantastic on Teen Wolf and I don’t care about his sexuality.
