Rowan County clerk Kim Davis and her family have switched over to the Republican party, as they feel Democrats no longer represent their beliefs, according to Reuters.
“My husband and I had talked about it for quite a while and we came to the conclusion that the Democratic Party left us a long time ago,” Davis told Reuters. “So why are we hanging on?”
Davis also mentioned that she saw no problem with the current marriage licenses, which omit her name and title and the name of the county.
“I don’t think there should be much of an issue,” she said, “and the judge didn’t have any problem accepting the licenses that were issued when I was incarcerated, which had been altered, so I don’t see that there should be an issue.”

Oppression, arising from our government’s dalliance with religion, cannot be tolerated, a lesson taught. Politically motivated Churches stand to falter for the compromises made. They fear that, should the pulpit be used for anything other than teaching God’s Word, their tax-free status tax may be threatened. Some of these religious organizations needed funding from the government to stay operational. What a pity that these outfits weren’t gifted enough to teach in a way that spiritually feeds the flock. Funding wouldn’t be required if the Word was taught with some talent. Salt has lost its taste. (thanks, billysees) The Tedious Right wanting the gravy train to continue, producing low yields of spiritual fruit annually, is not living by example. War, rancor, and politics is not spiritual fruit. Politics is Worldly. Discernment would have Christians seeing this. Fear and folly. It isn’t pretty and neither is mixing politics with religion. The GOP’s stance on these matters is misguided and futile. If a pastor, priest, or pope is dabbling in politics, it’s time to find another mentor, a teacher less Worldly. If a politician is dabbling in any religion, it’s time to find another person to serve government.
