While I’m not a fan of Ellen and her toxic bullying, the part of this story that didn’t tell us anything was this: Were Ellen and Rosie ever friends? If not, then what was Rosie expecting, Ellen to do the Hollywood thing and just make up a P.R. friendly story claiming the two loved each other?
If they were friends, then yeah, Ellen was being herself again.

The news story from which this one is rewritten suggested that Ellen and Rosie had at least been acquainted and went on to explain that Ellen had appeared on Rosie’s show to tease Ellen’s coming out on her sitcom. They joked about “Lebanese” stuff. This occurred before Ellen was on Larry King. So, yes Ellen was being awful when she said she didn’t know Rosie. Ellen=bad.
