By now the world has amply rejoiced Adele’s return to her heartbreakingly soulful ways, but at least one person had yet to be greeted with a “Hello.”

Mary Caldarella decided to exploit that fact, banking that her ex-boyfriend Matt hadn’t yet heard the wistful ballad.

She began texting him the lyrics as if they were her own thoughts. The conversation that ensued is a little bit sad and a lot of bit hilarious.
