Why should we be thankful? Let us count the ways: Sexy go-go boys, dozens of jamming DJ’s, Miley Cyrus (thanks for the twerking, btw) and a slew of turkey-themed parties. So whether you’re in New York or Tampa Bay, grab your lumbersexual flannel and get ready to dance the night away.
New York, New York: Thanksgiving @ POSH
If there’s one thing I’m thankful for this year, it’s the model on the POSH Thanksgiving poster. Here’s to watching him get down to beats from DJ Scott Goodz and hand out some of those special sliders. And while we’re at it, the beer and hip location in Hell’s Kitchen are all pretty sweet Thanksgiving perks.
Puerta Vallarta, Mexico: Vallarta Thanksgiving Official Tour
Fleeing to Mexico to escape this year’s too-early wintery weather probably isn’t such a bad idea (we’re looking at you, New York). And if the event description is any indication, the tour is going to be hot as hell in more ways than one — just look at how many times they mention “sexy go go BOYZ.” But in all seriousness, the beach is certainly something to be thankful for.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Thanksgiving Eve with PULSE!!
Who knew the night before Turkey Day could be so fancy? Dance the night away at Philadelphia’s biggest pre-Thanksgiving extravaganza at Voyeur nightclub. If you see red velvet, chandeliers and hundreds of hunks, you’re in the right place.
Tampa Bay, Florida: ETB Music Festival
This year, we’re thankful for Electric Tiki Beach in sunny, steamy Tampa Bay: Lasers, 12 DJs, hours of dancing and a view of the Gulf of Mexico.
If the location (hipster/alternative destination Akbar) is any indication, a majority of pie partakers will be of the Lumbersexual sort, likely just in from chopping their own wood and turkey hunting. Bottom line: Lumberjacks with warm apple pie.
Washington, DC: TWERKSgiving at Bar 7: The Night Before Thanksgiving
For the ladies in DC, this month’s Girl Code has planned a special Thanksgiving twerkfest (aka “bangin’ ass party”) at Bar 7, just off U Street. For the dudes with lezzy friends out there, that’s next to Nellie’s Sports Bar and a block away from Town Danceboutique if you decide to spend the evening bar hopping.
San Francisco, California: Thanksgiving Dinner at Lone Star
Join friends, bikers and bears at San Francisco’s Lone Star saloon for SoMA’s annual family dinner. Festivities start at 5 p.m.
San Francisco, California: INDUSTRY – Thanksgiving Recovery
Beatbox SF is known for hot, sweaty, bear-fueled events, so if you’re actually in the mood for a Thanksgiving recovery, you may want to kick it at home and steer clear. If, however, you’re in the mood for a sleuth of a good time (yeah, “sleuth” is what we call a group of bears) while supporting the the SF Bare Chest Calendar and the AIDS Emergency Fund, hightail it to Outfit in the Castro for your tix and a new jock, or buy online.
