After plenty of hype, the official trailer for the Elton John biopic Rocketman, starring Taron Egerton as “fat boy from nowhere” Reginald Dwight who went on to become the rock legend we all know, has been released.
And we’ve gotta say, we’re still pretty amped about this project.

In fact, it’s nominated in the Next Big Thing category in the 2019 Queerties. Voting ends Feb. 22 — will this trailer push it over the edge?

The film is directed by Dexter Fletcher, who was brought on to complete Bohemian Rhapsody (uncredited) after Bryan Singer was fired from the film.

Taron Egerton is cute and has a fabulous name. But I did not like his voice in the trailers. I hope they can fix it with electronic filters and stuff.

It’s not like Elton himself has one of the great voices in rock. It’s reasonably distinctive, but he can barely sing. So a vocally-challenged actor playing him isn’t really a huge problem.

Actually they are not going to change his voice at all. Elton according to the director wanted Taron to do his interpretation of his songs and not mimic his voice. So sorry its not going to be a carbon copy..

Taron is a bloody fantastic choice and you idiots who say he sounds wrong ,,,,,just hold off hes sung in movies before and has a great voice I cant wait to see this and Elton John himself is over the moon by his performance and talent

I was never a fan of Elton John. The man is one of the best songwriters of all time and I have loved songs he has written for others and even songs he wrote for himself when performed by other people with stronger voices. I was never a fan of his own singing style or performances sadly however I will see the film as I quite like Taron and I want to see what he does with this.
