A teenager who goes by Charlie on Twitter has shared her incredible comeback to an aunt’s rabidly homophobic text monologue.
Charlie explains, “I got into a fight w my auntie and she said ‘at least I don’t have to worry about my kid being a f*ggot like your mum does’.”
Her aunt’s response:
You need to stop being so sensitive I did not mean faggot in a bad way I just mean you gay people have a lot of drama.”
“I tried to understand this bi shit you claim to be but you teenagers make stuff up all the time. Youre young you will find a man. You can change.
“If you think you cant accept my help dont come to Indies birthday I do not want you ruining the day.”
To her credit, Charlie didn’t let these comments slide — not even.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
She replied:
Don’t worry about it! I know what you’re like after a few bottles of wine. I can’t make Indie’s birthday I’m afraid, I have a huge lesbian orgy that day and me and the other faggots have been planning it for months.
“By the way how’s your divorce going? I saw uncle Lee with his new girlfriend, she’s 20 years younger than you right?
“Speak soon!”
Then, most magnificently, the whole family decided to enter the fray:
These screenshots have been retweeeted thousands of time.
Charlie explained her side of things on Twitter:
I came on Twitter to vent…. the whole purpose of the thread was so I could let off some steam and actually laugh about how stupid it was.
“I don’t know how or why or when it blew up? It wasn’t my intention at all. I literally just wanted to scream about my ignorant family for a bit.
“Having a family that aren’t accepting is AWFUL and I would never use that for attention.
The teen added: “What I said to my aunt was horrible and I’ve never done anything like it before… I just snapped.”

Personally, I think Charlie’s response was absolutely brilliant.

Bravo for her to stand up to her hideous Aunt.

First off, I would explode like a nuke on her face.
If you have the courage to dish it, you must have the balls to take it.
Liam Barnes
She had nothing to apologize for. Her aunt was the one who wrongfully attacked her.

Glad you got it off your chest! Sometimes it’s worth it, most times not. Once I stopped at a relative’s home and they said something offensive, I picked up my jacket, put it on and as I opened the door to leave, I said “Can’t wait for you to die, so I can spit on your grave!” In a week, they DID DIE! And no, I did not feel badly and no, I did not waste my time spitting on their grave!!!

BRILLIANT

Maybe the aunt will learn her lesson. I can see why her ex-husband cut and run.

The aunt is biphobic but a lot of people who comment on this site are as well.

Charlie needs luv and support. She gave back precisely what is not hers to have: her aunt’s hate. No one in her family saw that; tells you what she’s up against. And she sounds strong.

The thing I find most appalling about this is that it seems the whole family jumped to the Aunt’s defence and nobody sided with Charlie, not even her own parents. This poor girl is up against it if she can’t get support from her own parents but then again she seems to be able to defend herself so good on her I say.

Brilliant.
Girl can definitely throw shade!

My brain is saying “It was a childish and immature response, and all the people involved, have ended up lowering themselves into a pathetic display of mutual mudslinging and embarrassing histrionics…..
…..my heart is saying “YOU GO, GIRL!!”
Stached1
@JessPH: Yes because that’s soooooo important in life and being a total c u n t that’s negative is the best thing ever. /sarcasm.
JessPH
@Stached1: Her aunt is the c unt.

It seems that certain people only understand things in certain ways. Violence may only work with Putin, mudslinging with Trump.
I know we are all supposed to rise above it, but sometimes you just want to hit back the same way they hit you. Straights can say and do such hurtful things, but if we do it, suddenly we’re the evil ones. Or, worse yet, people look at you like you are over-reacting. “Mom only asked you to lie if her friend asked if you were gay, so what if your mother has known for 40 years.” “She still loves you, doncha know, why are you getting so upset???”
I guess sometimes you just get tired of being a polite doormat.
