And Now Let’s Hear From Kathy Griffin Re: Dan Choi’s Discharge

In Washington D.C. in March, Kathy Griffin did not join Lt. Dan Choi in his march to the White House because, uh, she didn’t want to look like a publicity hog. So how does she feel now that Choi has been booted from service?

Sad. Confused. And for once, not in the mood to laugh.

So now you have it in for Kathy Griffin too? Because she wouldn’t go along with some cockamamie scheme to chain herself to the White House fence? That was sprung on her with no warning, by the way.

In this clip, she clearly is saying that nobody should be discharged for being gay, so how can it be an “honorable” discharge. Good point.

You really need to work a little harder at distinguishing friends of the gay cause from enemies.

NOBODY cares about Dan Choi’s discharge. He quit the Army in 2008. He joined the NY National Guard and “came out” in order to get attention. The NY National Guard will survive.

Choi called other LGBT soldiers that wouldn’t come out “cowards.” Soldiers aren’t cowards – especially those that are obeying the laws.

For Dan Choi it’s all about Dan Choi. For the rest of us, it’s about equal rights.

I hope Choi finally disappears. From the handcuffs to the one-week “hunger strike” we’ve had enough of this publicity seeker.

When Harvey Milk began his quest for equality, he was dismissed by the gay leadership, they told him he was crazy, he was too radical, that his ideals were too much. The gay “elite” would not endorse him. Yes, he was nuts, yes he was ahead of his times, but he ended up becoming a hero.

History will tell if Dan Choi was a crazy, attention whore or just believed in his cause that much that he would do insane things. I truly believe in him. Most of the people that dismiss him aren’t in the army and they don’t know what he’s been through.

Keep in mind another thing: in order to generate change there’s only one answer that has been stated by Harvey Milk as well: come out of the closet! It’s as simple as this! So don’t accuse Dan Choi for calling the closeted soldiers cowards. Imagine if tomorrow we would have thousands of soldiers and millions of civilians come out. The world would HAVE to accept us, no matter what. But we have to deal with what we’re given. And that is a bunch of walking closets that keep attacking the gay movement.

funny how no one seems to be able to win with you guys. Kathy Griffen sucks because she wouldn’t join the protest. Lt. Dan was stupid because his method was drawing the wrong kind of publicity. Both were wrong in your eyes but for some reason, amnesia has set in because now you are being snarky about Kathy not getting involved with a protest that you thought was wrong from the get-go! Seriously… we need all the allies we can get and you are picking them off as if they are a dime-a-dozen. LAME! What, pray tell, are you guys actually doing to get the DADT repeal over and done with? Hmmmm?

If Barack Obama were to dive into the gulf, kick the well until it stopped leaking, then swam back to the surface to sign an all-in-one DADT/DOMA repeal bill into law while tossing bundles of food into Africa with his right hand and curing cancer with his left, Queerty would bitch about how he was wearing the wrong tie for the occasion.

      @Michael… #6.
Hate to bother you but my search on the googles turned up nada. Please answer, I would be much obliged — And I suspect other people might wonder too:

IF / WHEN DADT is repealed, what happens to those who have been discharged?

*+*Will they be eligible to re-enlist if they choose to?*+*

Thanks in advance, for an answer — even if that matter has yet to be determined.

      So let’s see now.

Queerty loves Davey Wavey or Davey Gravy or whatever the fuck his name is but, Queerty dislikes Kathy Griffin, who has been a loyal and outspoken supporter of the LGBT for 18 years?

      Whatevah.’

In Hollywood you’ve got to be for gay rights….or atleast say you are. Then you’re free to do all the fag jokes you want and you can even yell at hecklers to “take the dick out of your mouth” while live on CNN. Oh that Kathy and Joy, they’ve been “so good to us”, deigning their approval that we be allowed the right to fight and die openly in the US army. It’s so touching.

Wow, such bitchiness. Kathy’s on our side, but as an outrageous comedianne, she’s bound to step in it once in a while. On the whole, she’s a net positive. Dan Choi probably is too, though I still don’t get why he came out nationally on Rachel Maddow’s show, if he didn’t expect to get discharged. I hope that Obama follows through, and especially hope that it happens before Victor Fehrenbach gets kicked out.

For anyone standing up for Kathy it is about time you knew the truth about KG who doesn’t give a rats ass about gay people. She is a back stabber to everyone…friends included…who is out to make a buck. Ever notice her friends never last?? They have all been stabbed in the back when it made her a dollar. Her “gays” are only important as long as they are a big source of income. If right wing freak tea partiers were her biggest source of income she would be a tea partier. Take it from me…one of her close “gays” who knows the real bitch way to well.
