Britain’s First Same-Sex Birth Certificate

It might’ve been a big day for Lily-May Betty Woods (she was born, after all), but it was a bigger day for parents Natalie Woods and Elizabeth Knowles, of Brighton, who became the U.K.’s first same-sex couple to both appear on a child’s birth certificate, courtesy new legislation. Woods, who used a sperm donor, is the biological mother.
