Seriously. Take him back. Put this bigot back in the straight category. We don’t want him on the team. Marty Peretz, owner of the New Republic and scourge of Harvard’s legacy, who wonders aloud “whether I need honor these people [Muslims] and pretend they are worthy of the privileges of the First Amendment, which I have in my gut the sense that they will abuse,” is a known homosexual, which means he identifies with both John Bolton and Elton John. There is nothing worse.

I think some people are just raised by very conservative families. When you’re a child of extreme racists and right-wingers, you drink in those toxic attitudes by osmosis. And you have to really work to get rid of those attitdues even when logic and common sense tell you to.
