Americans barely care about its own illusionists (we blame Chris Angel, who’s intolerable), but gay British trickster Derren Brown had nearly three million viewers at his beck and call last night as he professed to correctly predict all six numbers of the midweek lotto drawing.
While the BBC broadcast the winning numbers, Brown — who previously played Russian Roulette on live TV — was on Channel 4, showing the lotto broadcast in real time as he unveiled his own number picks … which, naturally, matched perfectly.
And tomorrow? He plans to reveal how he did it. Cue everyone trying to explain the trick ahead of time. We think it’s the gay gene.

Americans barely care about THEIR own illusionists! If you wanna say IT’S illusionist’s then you should say AMERICA! ANDDDDDDD how did he PICK the winning lotto numbers not PICKED them. Or, you could just leave out the DID! Good Lord I hope whoever wrote this did so on the back of a diner napkin, which clearly doesn’t have spell check, and then someone found it and posted it on here in it’s original form so as not to ruin it’s layman’s poetry. Because if someone got PAID to write this and post it on here, then PLEASE allow me to send in my resume because my writing would easily make this person look like koko the gorilla is her editor.

@Rachel: Please note: “ruin IT’S layman’s” – ‘its’ would be more correct in this instance (which is also the case when you’re suggesting that the article should refer to America’s illusionists as ‘IT’S’ as . Also, if you’ve gone to the lengths to name a gorilla, it’d only be polite to upper-case that name; hence ‘Koko the gorilla’.
OK, with the pedantry out of the way, most of the rest of what you’re saying is dead right.

@Rachel: Amen. If the Queerty Editors only realized this demeans the site as a whole and makes them look….kind of stupid. (And I love this frickin site!)

I had no idea Derren Brown was Gay.
I always thought he was straight, his short(6 episodes) American series seemed to portray him that way. With one of his more popular tricks he did on it being when he randomly(No pick up line or anything just walked right up to them and started talking) managed to pick up girls in 5 minutes of talking to them about what kind of guy they like.
Now I know how he did that trick though! The gay gene! Of course! Girls love us Gay guys for no apparent reason at all! Even if we’re the exact opposite of a stereotype! And even if they don’t know it!
Or maybe it was the camera crew following him around.

One solution to how he did it is to make/cover the balls in a type of paper Ladbrokes and a few other shops use for receipts, the type which require a laser to turn the paper from white to black(not sure what its call but heat affects the paper and makes it to go black, therefore being able to produce a image/number without physical contact, he could effectively of made the whole room he was in a printer, with a few tweaks from a lens the number size could be increased from the size on a till receipts to the size produced on the balls, the 10sec or so time delay from the final ball coming out to when he turned his balls around would give another person/image reader time to send the info from the draw to the printer and on to the balls, the ball number seemed to be printed not hand written, behind the back wall could of been a type of till printer which projected the laser throw a small hole(on watching again it seems for this way to be the one he would of need 6 laser printers as the balls are printed on from different direction and seem to come from above/higher than cameras vision as he straightens them at the end something he would of sorely done before if the balls actually had numbers on before), if the camera was positioned correctly this would near impossible to see from the images broadcasted. And would explain why he could not reveal the numbers on the ball until a few second after the draw its self, everyone knows the chance to place a bet on a lotto draw ends at least 30mins or so before the draw itself so there was no reason he couldn’t show us his predictions before the draw. Anyway probably totally wrong but this would work (I think). I’m interested in hearing any other ideas anyone has??
Rachel
Darrien, you are right about my extraneous apostrophe…. and I enjoy pedantics! I like how they fixed the title but not the article! I just hope these article writers are all contributors, and I agree with Geoff that a site dedicated to advancing the gay agenda should do it’s best to seem professional. And I am a just a straight white chick flying the rainbow flag here. I like the wit on this site.. but I can do without errors my 5th grader can point out, lol!

It’s not important to know how he did it. The real question is did he buy a ticket? THAT, would be incredible.

@ Rachel: you sound like the most boring person in the world. You may care to take a few writing classes yourself before getting so anal (if you’ll forgive the pun).
