Lindsay Lohan’s Docu-Series Is Finally Over. Can Her Career Survive The Debacle?

lindsay_lohan_drunk_after_releaseAt long last, the epic six-part Lindsay Lohan train wreck documentary on OWN has finally — finally — come to an end. No longer will audiences be subjected to Lohan’s weekly whining, blatant lying, or talking about how “really, truly, like, seriously serious” she is about reviving the all-but-dead acting career she has so successfully squandered.

The past six weeks have been riddled with all sorts of ridiculousness: Lindsay chain-smoking Parliaments while verbally abusing her personal assistant; Lindsay sleeping in until 4 p.m.; Lindsay refusing to film; Lindsay daring a friend to pierce his ear with a knife; Lindsay arriving 24 hours late to a photo shoot; Lindsay walking off set; Lindsay firing her personal assistant; Lindsay firing her life coach; Lindsay being snubbed by Miley Cyrus; Lindsay scrambling to hide wine bottles left out on her kitchen counter; Lindsay’s mother Dina nervously smiling for the camera and insisting “Everything is great!”; Lindsay insisting that her sobriety is “nobody’s business”… whilst filming a documentary about her sobriety. And the list goes on and on… and on and on.

In last weekend’s series finale, 27-year-old Lohan dropped yet another bombshell: She suffered a miscarriage during production!

…Or did she?

Under normal circumstances, we would be inclined to believe a person when they said something sad like this. After all, a miscarriage is a tragic and awful thing. But we’re talking about Lindsay Lohan here, a girl woman whose history of lying is longer than her list of film credits.

Radar Online claims to have two sources who say Lindsay faked the miscarriage in an effort to cover up her inexcusably unprofessional behavior during shooting.

lindsay-lohan“She absolutely made it up,” one source said. “Lindsay was never pregnant during filming the reality show for OWN, or in the months after. Lindsay knew she was being perceived as a total slacker, not showing up on time for photo shoots, call times and refusing to shoot. So this is what Lindsay does. She lies.”

Another source said: “Lindsay has continued to smoke throughout this entire series and has admitted to relapsing and drinking alcohol. Don’t forget there have been multiple media reports that she fell off the wagon months ago. Quite simply, Lindsay never acted like someone who was pregnant.”

So far, Lindsay’s team isn’t commenting on the matter, although Dina Lohan did write a cryptic tweet to Oprah during Sunday night’s finale that read: “Oprah call me.”

The tweet has since been deleted.

The series was intended to be Lindsay’s attempt at starting over, to regain her footing after a tumultuous several years. And Oprah was going to hold her hand the entire way. Lindsay would film the series, regain her public, reclaim her career, and peace would be restored. Sadly, that didn’t happen. She was unable to rise to the occasion, failing at what was very likely her last chance for redemption, and disappointing Oprah in the process.

But don’t blame Lindsay, of course. She’s innocent in all this. A victim, really. Yes, somewhere in the deepest, darkest corners of her twisted, drink-addled imagination, her abysmal failure, documented on camera for all the world to see, is entirely your fault.
