Mikki Nicholson, The New Trans Scrabble Champ
Congratulations to Mikki Nicholson, the 32-year-old trans Scrabble whiz who just claimed Britain’s Scrabble national championship, beating out a 20-time champ with the word “obeisant,” earning 86 points — all while wearing a pink wig and PVC dress. Nicholson has only been playing Scrabble for five years after learning the game online. Among the words she used to take home the top $2,405 prize: “nads.” I thought slang wasn’t allowed?

Congratulations to Ms. Nicholson, she has accomplished what few can do. However, I hope she will consider consulting a professional makeup artist before getting a national photograph again. And perhaps consider a more age-appropriate look.
