Nasty Pig is running a contest giving away a free trip to New York City to celebrate their flagship store grand opening. Queerty was treated to a tour of the new space, a mix of concrete, grey wood, and exposed brick located just a few doors east of the former location at 259 West 19th Street in Chelsea.
Nasty Pig has been a Chelsea staple for 20 years, and has made an even bigger commitment to the ‘hood even as gay oriented stories are leaving or closing due to the influx of non-gays. Whether you’re shopping for the Black Party, a new outfit for one of the many Pride Parties, or skivvies for your next hot date, there’s a bit of decidedly queer style for everyone.
Chelsea has gotten a bad rap lately for losing part of its gay identity. The closing of long-running institutions like Rainbows and Triangles and local watering holes like Splash and Rawhide is definitely indicative of change, but the spirit of the neighborhood of Chelsea still thrives in bars like G Lounge, Barracuda, Boxers, Gym Bar, The Eagle.
Recipients of the Nasty Pig Grand Opening Weekend contest will win round trip airfare for two to the Big Apple, a three night stay at The GEM Hotel Chelsea, two tickets to Alegria Love Ball on February 16th, dinner for two at Elmo, a $100 bar tab at Barracuda, and a $1,000 shopping spree at Nasty Pig. The grand opening of the flagship, featuring beats by popular DJ Corey Craig.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
In our tour of the new store, I checked out the basement space featuring a small photography studio for people to show off these new outfits and take even better pictures. It’s worth a visit.

There models are hot. Andrew Christian’s models are not.

Uh-oh. My library’s content blocker wouldn’t let me go to the website to enter. Hope another Queerty reader wins!
