Pittsburg Goes For The Gays

Pittsburg and their tourism bureau are trying their hardest to harness the homo traveler. Someone call our travel agent!

Yeah, the whole time I lived there there was always an H at the end. We are very proud of our H.
But maybe TPTB have confused it with Pittsburg California Kansas Texas? Although the article is clearly about Pennsylvania. Maybe they didn't read the article?

I live in Pittsburgh and can tell you that there really isn't much for gay traveler to see or do.
I personally have been seriously thinking of moving. It's a very closeted city. I'll give you a good example: The PGH craiglist site has many ads featuring "discreet", "straight-acting", "married but looking for quiet hookup" entries.
There are some bars, but they are nothing special. Plus, it's not like the Castro where you can walk hand-in-hand. You can't do that very comfortably in Pittsburgh.
Remember in "Wonder Boys" when Robert Downey, Jr., and his drag queen friend have landed at the PGH airport and his friend begins to take off his wig, make-up, etc. The unspoken reason that he is doing that is because he knows that he can't comfortably dress that way in Pittsburgh without getting harrassed or worse.

Shawn, Washington DC is much more gayer without that East Coast anger like the more Northern cities (Philly, New York etc) You could always live in Toronto, the true setting of "Queer as Fuck." San Francisco aint what it used to be, either.

It's okay…Andrew has probably worn out that H key talking about HX Magazine since he hates them so much.
