Columbia University President Lee Bollinger wants to prohibit the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps from visiting his campus. Why? Because of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” of course! [NY Sun]

They are just using DADT as a red herring. They just abhor the military and those that serve.

People in the leadership role that he has should lead.

He’s doing the right thing. Most Universities were prohibiting military recruiting on campus for this reason until the Newt Gingrich crackpot Republican congress of the mid 1990s passed a law withholding federal funds if they didn’t let them on campus.

I sat next to a really hot Marine in class in college and I have had several Marine lovers, so I have nothing against the military per se.

Could you please identify who “They” are? Are you referring to Columbia’s administration, academicians in general, or some other group?

They as in Columbia Univeristy’s administrators. Most Academics in general would also fill the “they” role.
