SINGING OUT

WATCH: Out Vocalist Mary Lambert Is Ready For 2014 With Gorgeous Holiday Standard

If you don’t know Mary Lambert’s name, you certainly know her voice heard to memorable effect on the soaring chorus of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ inescapable anthem “Same Love.” The out vocalist also held her own opposite another powerhouse Jennifer Hudson when the two paired up to sing their faces off at the VMAs last August. With some luck, the Seattle-based singer-songwriter could soon become a star in her own right as her debut EP, Welcome To The Age Of My Body, is now available today on iTunes and Amazon.

Above, she offers a haunting, plaintive take on the New Year’s Eve standard “Auld Lang Syne.” Below is Lambert’s newly-released lyric video for her searing first single “She Keeps Me Warm,” from which the chorus of “Same Love” was lifted.

A pure and beautiful voice! Nice version of Macklemore and Lewis’ award winning song and video. However, the original has a more powerful and universal message.
