Phil Robertson is at it again.
While speaking at the Vero Beach Prayer Breakfast last Friday, the virulently antigay Duck Dynasty star shared with his fellow Christians a fantasy he recently had involving an atheist man who is forced to watch as his innocent wife is beheaded and his two daughters are raped and killed. And all because he doesn’t believe in the man upstairs.
“Two guys break into an atheist’s home,” Robertson said. “They take his two daughters in front of him and rape both of them and then shoot them and they take his wife and then decapitate her head off in front of him. And then they can look at him and say, ‘Isn’t it great that I don’t have to worry about being judged? Isn’t it great that there’s nothing wrong with this? There’s no right or wrong, now is it dude?’”
Oh, but it doesn’t stop there.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
“Then you take a sharp knife,” Robertson, giddy with excitement, continued, “and take his manhood and hold it in front of him and say, ‘Wouldn’t it be something if this was something wrong with this? But you’re the one who says there is no God, there’s no right, there’s no wrong, so we’re just having fun. We’re sick in the head, have a nice day.’”
“If it happened to them,” Robertson concluded, “they probably would say, ‘something about this just ain’t right.”

This guy is a raving psycopath. They better cancel his show for good.

He’s right you know: there is no basis for morality other than a list of totally arbitrary restrictions on behavior!
This list of arbitrary rules, sourceless and void of all human context in themselves, is the only thing — THE ONLY THING — standing between us and total anarchy!
Morality doesn’t exist, so there is no way of evaluating any of these rules, and no basis for comparing them to each other!
Questioning rule #47, the prohibition against eating cheese, is exactly the same as questioning rule #5, the prohibition against kicking your mother in the teeth!
How can we possibly judge that one of these rules is better than another? We can’t!
There is no such thing as love, empathy, or a shared fate as living beings!
I live in a terrifying universe!

I would never have guessed that he was this sick.

@DistingueTraces: Do we have another lunatic troll? Many rules and laws have their source in the Code of Hammurabi and Greek and Roman traditions and laws. So learn your history, fool.

I love how people like Phil readily admit that the only thing stopping them from raping children and commiting random acts of violence is the belief that their god would be displeased with them.
I’ll make sure to cross to the other side of the street should I ever cross paths with him. I wouldn’t want to take the chance that his tenuous hold on his urge to commit violent acts will slip in my presence.
Oh and, Phil, you really shouldn’t discuss moral relativism when it’s VERY obvious you don’t have the slightest understanding of the topic.
RiBrad
What an insight into his mind! So it is only the fear of retribution from his god that prevents him from doing such heinous things? How lucky for the rest of us that he believes in god! Sarah Silverman said it best:
“Some people need Hell. If you’re the type of guy who sees a hooker in an alleyway and instinctively thinks, “Hey, now there’s something I could rape and kill without any consequences,” then the concept of Hell might really keep you out of trouble.”

Just a reminder that Phil Robertson was even fairly recently telling straight adult men that they should be with 15 or 16 year old girls, and that Robertson, at 20, married a 16 year old so he could avoid statutory rape charges.
That should add some perspective to his above-mentioned “watching your daughters get raped” fantasy.

Gotta love those Christian values.
In my fantasy, the American public wakes up to the reality that this guy and others like him are idiots and nutcases, they stop paying attention and he disappears.
Clark35
Why is queerty making this a story?
Xzamilio
@Clark35: This was a story long before Queerty, and frankly it needs to be shown. All those morons talking about “Phil Robertson was just expressing his religious views” in regards to the GQ interview about gay people and the crap he said about black people. Couple that with the last few instances of him running his mouth saying homophobic, xenophobic bile… there’s no way anyone can deny THIS latest unloading of bullshit is anything other than what it is. It’s pretty obvious Duck Dynasty is on its last legs at this point, anyway, as the conservative base isn’t out in droves defending their hick Messiah
Clark35
Xzamilio-I don’t think that it’s good to give this guy or fire and brimstone bigoted born again types attention, or any media attention since that’s what they want.
Xzamilio
@Clark35: Pretending they don’t exist doesn’t make them go away… and there are a LOT of them out there.

This man is clearly confused. It isn’t god’s absence that makes such a scenario morally ambiguous. It’s god’s presence that makes it morally imperative. Deuteronomy 12:13-15 states it is you duty from God to kill everyone you find that does not believe as you do. And other passages make it clear you’re supposed to be much worse in your torturing.
Nikki Hatch

@DistingueTraces
Of course there is a basis for morality in the universe: since morality only exists through mankind, it can only be based on mankinds feelings. We humans determine the existence of morality in this universe.
So there an easy way to know whether something is good or bad without resorting to any God:
Causing unnecessary pain = bad
Helping avoid pain = good
And even better: there are objective, rational criteria about what pain is unnecessary too! For example: not allowing your child to eat treats all the time is ok, because it is bad for his health. Killing someone for the sake of an invented supernatural creature (God) is bad.
Anyone with a minimum of intellect and education can see that, unless he is completely insane. Even the most agressive bigots know that they are doing something wrong, as you can tell from their constant efforts to justify their crimes (see ISIS, for example).
This is universal, which is why the human rights are called universal and unalienable in international law.
NJjoe
This man needs to be institutionalized.
