Bryan Fischer Says Jason Collins’ Career Is Over, Nobody Listens

Christian talk show host Bryan Fischer has some opinions on Jason Collins‘ recent coming out, and thankfully, Right Wing Watch has posted a video summarizing the worst of his commentary, probably because nobody else was listening.

Fischer believes that the Sports Illustrated piece announcing Collins’ sexuality is pretty much an obituary for his career. Contrary to the overwhelming support the newly open NBA player received yesterday, Fischer is pretty sure Collins will eventually be rejected by fellow players and their wives for “eyeballing” them in the shower.

Furthermore, Fischer thinks Collins’ wandering eyes will keep him from getting a job at all next year.

He continues:

“Now, I will guarantee you that, if the ownership of whatever team was thinking about bringing him back, or thinking about trading for him, and they go to the players on that team, and they say ‘how do you feel about an out, active, homosexual being in the same locker room, sharing the same shower facilities with you?’ they’d say ‘no way – I do not want some guy, a teammate, eyeballing me in the shower, and my wife does not want that.’”

Funny how Jason Collins has been playing in the NBA for 12 years, never once being accused of “eyeballing” his teammates’ junk in the shower.

But who listens to this guy anyway? He’s just bitter about being the victim of excessive side-eyes, never an “eyeball.”
