In his police report — which Shapiro filed with the Los Angeles Police Department on Sunday morning — he claims Tur continued threatening him after their appearance, a claim which she’s denied. And yet, feeble minds say “well, it’s just words…” no. they’re not. “just words” were what kept you boys closeted for years. “just words” are those things that lead many grown-adult gay men to still live timid-ass lives, worrying each day about “people knowing/being able to tell” that they’re gay.
And for all the kumbaya talk of “changing hearts and minds” – bigots like Shapiro will never change. what’s really hilarious is that had a man put his hand on a woman’s shoulder and hinted at the woman going home in an ambulance, the taping of the show would have halted and security would have been called. I really do wish space and time would allow for more about the backgrounds of people featured in articles on online sites regardless of their targeted audience. I read a hard copy newspaper every morning because I prefer to read details that help explain a situation or event and those involved. In my honest opinion, based on what I saw, Tur is there for no other reason than to support Jenner. It would be nice if he were invited back to discuss his being a pilot and why some transgendered youth could consider that (sexual orientation be damned the flight school will be more than happy to teach you as long as you can pay for the lessons). In the U.S., we have this thing called “fighting words” that, people have successfully argued in court, is the first provocation so that what happens afterwards is construed as self-defense. Shapiro was verbally combative, and I wish I could watch her beat him up, because it would be the equivalent of a ninth Harry Potter movie for me. Technically, Shapiro made a criminal complaint with, i assume, the appropriate
police department. The police will then gather the facts and potentially could charge
Tur. More likely, the police will forward the information to the local prosecutor who
will decide whether to bring charges (which appears unlikely).
Shapiro could file a civil suit but that would be separate from the criminal matter.

Pressing assault charges is not filing a lawsuit. California recognizes simple assault as a misdemeanor. Prosecuting this action is a matter for the State. Her actions meet the threshold of simple assault in California. It’s going to be big pain in the ass for her and end in fine. However, he didn’t file a lawsuit and I doubt he will. There are no damages to collect.

@aliengod: I don’t think that Giancarlo has consciously adopted a McCarthyist ideology or a paranoid outlook on life. I think it is the product of the bullying he experienced in school. He has written about this in months past. When a person is bullied over a long period of time, he is forced to adopt certain psychological defenses in order to shore up his self-esteem and resist the external threats to his sense of self-worth. He becomes hyper-aware of threats and remains in a combative state, always alert and ready to engage the next foe. He is resistant to any criticism or viewpoints, which he perceives as threatening, because he experiences them as a prelude to the bullying of his school days. And because he was bullied for being effeminate, he reacts to any views critical of “gender nonconformity” transgenderism, transexuality, etc. as if it was a physical attack on him.
With this combative psyche, he was able to survive in the toxic environment of his school. But in a normal environment, that same psyche renders him dysfunctional.

I am late in responding, but Giancarlo85, you were bullied. You wrote about it right here in the comments section on Queerty a few months ago. You wrote about how you stood up for yourself during those years. It was the only thing you ever wrote on here which merited respect and admiration, so I remember it very well. Now you have managed to sully even that one praiseworthy comment by lying about your past.
