New York City police officers tackled a man to the ground as he was exiting last year’s Gay Pride Parade, yelled homophobic slurs at him and broke his ribs, a federal lawsuit claims.
Jacob Alejandro, 25, allegedly jumped over a police barricade on Christopher St. in the West Village around 7:30 p.m. on June 29, 2014, and was soon after forced down to the ground by cops, injuring his elbows and left arm, according to the suit.
That’s when an officer allegedly yelled “Get the fuck up, you faggot!”
Then things got weirder.

An unspecified number of cops doggy-piled on top of Alejandro, who is gay, and transported him to the Sixth Precinct, then eventually to Bellevue Hospital.
Later, he was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct and was released.
Then Alejandro, a Brooklyn-based health educator, took himself to Coney Island Hospital where he was diagnosed with fractured ribs.
All charges were eventually dropped, says the suit, which also seeks unspecified damages.

“I have seen too much bias and bigotry from NYPD officers, and I hope my case makes a difference,” Alejandro told The Post in a statement Tuesday.
His lawyer, Baree Fett, said, “There is something particularly vulgar about discriminatory anti-gay conduct from police officers working at a gay pride event. This lawsuit is about obtaining a measure of justice for Jacob.”
The NYPD did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Thuggish cops attack a brown person, no surprise there. Nor is the homophobia. I hope he wins his case!
calabrazy55
Um……..proof????????? I don’t believe his version
Giancarlo85
@calabrazy55: Charges were dropped as cops didn’t have enough evidence. They didn’t even have enough evidence to arrest him on any charge. I guess some can’t see the writing on the wall.
Cops beat up a brown person… This happens regularly and had to end.

prosecution as well as a civil suit are called for!

The police are out of control but this is what they are conditioned to do. They even have many of their defenders conditioned to always side with them no matter what. This is why you must know the law when it comes to what they can and can’t ask for . Cops can’t stand my Black ass because I know my rights and as soon as they start overreaching their authority I check their ass. Most people just do whatever they say not knowing they often ask things that extend beyond what they are legally allowed to ask. They count on ignorance.

A word of advice to the wise: if you do not have patience (as in waiting in line with a MOB of people) avoid Christopher street on the day of the parade. They block the street off a block before the pier because THOUSANDS of people are trying to get to the pier and the pier can SAFELY hold so many thousands of people. Cars are still flying up and down the West Side highway and that is simply too many people to safely wait for the light to change with someone not being accidentally knocked into the path of a car. I kid you not, that just how many people are waiting to get onto that pier. I stand with the NYPD when they say DO NOT CROSS THE BARRICADE.
Girl decided to say fuck it, climbed her ass over the barricade and got her ass beat for mouthing off with the officers is what it sounds like to me. Being released without charges show this was nothing but a case of where the NYPD officers got pissed off and used that bullshit “resisting arrest and disorderly conduct” law to beat her smart mouthed ass.
Giancarlo85
Again they beat the crap out of him and called him a f*gg*t. Is this not enough for you, bob? If somebody jumps a street closure… they should have issued a fine or arrested him. Not beat him to a pulp. Are you this dense, bob mcblah? This naive and stupid? This guy made a mistake… that didn’t justify him being beaten up by the cops, you fucking moron.

Sounds like he got what he asked for. I side with Bob LaBlah on this one.

@Will L:
I’m usually a supporter of the police but if Mr. Alejandro’s account is accurate, no one who simply jumps over a barricade deserves what he’s described unless there’s a dignitary to protect. A *real* dignitary, not a city council member or a Car-cra$hian.
Giancarlo85
@Will L: You sir are a pretentious idiot.
Cam
@Will L:
Let me guess, you live with your anti-gay parents and want to prove that you are still a good boy by saying gays deserve what the get when things like this happen.
Clark35
“Brown person”? The guy is Latino. Not South Asian. He did cross a marked barricade where he was told not to go.

@Will L: Sick country full of sick people who think physical violence is the proper punishment for the smallest infraction of the law. What’s next? Caning for jaywalking? Here’s a suggestion: instead of tackling and beating the guy, they tell him to get back to the other side of the barrier and stay there. Message received without violence. But of course, what would be the fun of that?
Giancarlo85
@Clark35: STFU please. You don’t know what you’re talking about just like every other gay republican windbag.
Giancarlo85
This country is full of stupid fucking idiots who like to cause violence. Even look at the idiots posting under this article advocating for the police. Go move to fucking Syria, you right wing self hating closeted fuckers. You’ll be right at home there!
Clark35
@Giancarlo85: *yawn* That’s nice. FYI I’m not a Republican; but you certainly are a troll that lives in your mom’s basement.
Giancarlo85
@Clark35: You’re a right wing tool. You are the one that lives in your grandparents attic. Must be a lot of cobwebs up there. Idiot right winger. I actually live in my own place. In the small town you live in that would be a dream for you.
Clark35
@Giancarlo85: LMAO no I’m not right wing I am a registered democrat, I do not live with my grandparents, and I live in a large city on the east coast.
Giancarlo85
@Clark35: Your rantings are indicative of a right wing mind. You don’t live in a large city. Somebody who lives in a city does not have opinions as extreme as your own.

When I read a gay (transexuals are mutilated gays/lesbians and they must abolish sex changes) bashing case in the news, I wonder what the view is of the journalist reporting this on homosexuality/lesbianism. I also wonder if the journalist is a homosexual or lesbian and if so, are they setting aside their bias and reporting the news with no problems. I do not trust news that I get from Daily Kos or the Huffington Post on their coverage of gay bashing cases because they predictably make the homosexual look like an innocent victim no matter what wrong the gay does.
Gay bashing victims will face the same public opinion court as gay bashers. If there are ugly truths about a homosexual which the media omits as most did with Methew Wayne Shepard, then we will use our free speech rights to tell the ugly truths about the homosexual even if others dislike it. & there is nothing any1 can do to legally stop us from telling the ugly truths.
