SOUNDBITES — “I hate and fear gay people. The way they feel is different from how I feel, and that causes me a lot of confusion and anger. Everyone knows God is all-powerful. He could easily have given me the capacity to investigate what’s behind those feelings rather than tell strangers in the park they’re going to hell for holding hands. But God clearly has another path for me. And who am I to question His divine will? Compassion, tolerance, understanding, basic decency, the ability to put myself in another person’s position: God could have endowed me with any of those traits and yet—here is the crucial part—He didn’t. Why? Because the Creator of the Universe wants me to demonize homosexuals in an effort to strip them of their fundamental human rights. […] If I were capable of thinking and acting any other way, then I’m sure I would, but God seems to be quite adamant about this one. He’s just not budging at all.” —”Jane Kendricks,” explaining why she would be more accepting of gays if God allowed it, in The Onion

Hah! Gotta love The Onion. I was getting seriously weirded out ’til you named the publication.

The onion can be pretty damn funny. I loved that youtube video where the kid shoots the burglar, and the conservative news channel is so happy they overlook that he is a fledgling serial killer! “I just like the blood.”

I love the Onion

It scared me, then I saw it was from the Onion and I laughed…and then I got kinda sad, because all poignant humor is somewhat based on a truth, and I am sure there are people out there who think as ass-backwardly as this.
Hmmm
The Onion is funny because it is dead-on.

Here’s another one from the Onion (an anti-smoking campaign
where they try to convince kids that people will think they
are gay if they smoke). It’s hilarious in the twisted sort
of way typical of Onion spoofs. The adults “seriously” discussing this advertising campaign make it look like a typical news story.

The Onion is love.

yes, knowing it’s the onion, I can sort of laugh, sort of. It’s sad though to think someone was capable of creating this ‘blog’ and publishing it. Many people don’t know what the onion is and will take it seriously and think it’s okay to spew their hatred.

So that pissed me completely off. Then I laughed. I should pay more attention to what I’m reading before I actually read it.

With the title, I was like who the hell was this? And then say it’s from the Onion and laughed.
