Awkward? Amazing?
In order to plug her upcoming Apple Music show The 411, Mary J. Blige sings a cappella about police brutality and social justice in front of a stoic, starey Hillary Clinton.

At the end of the ad, Blige abruptly stops singing in order to grip Clinton’s hand and ask her, “I just want to know… where do we go from here?”
And then? That’s it. The commercial ends, leaving Blige’s question hanging in the air.
Perhaps we’ll figure out what it’s all about when the show premieres September 30th.

Interesting business move Mary. This was unexpected given your recent divorce. People that know your music would say that you would put out another mega hit album based on your depression about your husband. But it seems like you are taking another route. I’ll save more opinion until we can see the rest of this. But I will say that it does come off as a Tyler Perry Production…which to me is not a good thing. BUTT…let’s see how it plays out. I would love to be wrong about that because I love Mary and she has been a class act in the world of Hip Hop/R&B. She’s from the golden age (1990s) and overall has managed to keep it cute. But this move right here Mary….Like I said, let’s see what comes out in the wash. Hey, I know that we all gotta hustle for our coins, but I think that unless you are destitute you should have some dignity, self respect and high standards. You want to leave a nice legacy for the world and your loved ones.

And Hillary is all the while thinking, now what will I have for dinner tonight?…..
