Mélange 2014, the annual celebration of diversity and self-love, will take place on September 27, 2014 at the Regency Center in San Francisco with over 18 fashion designers and 100 diverse models from ages 3 – 70. Elite designers, who have worked with Lady Gaga, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, and more, will be participating in Mélange 2014. This is San Francisco’s biggest fashion networking event of the year.
Celebrities are traveling from around the world to support advocacy for Mélange’s mission of celebrating diversity. Laganja Estranja will be performing at Mélange 2014 in San Francisco, alongside famous dancers, Barbies Addiction, who have worked with Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and more. Earlier this year, Laganja Estranja performed in Rio de Janiero for Mélange Brazil 2014. This was Mélange’s first international production, and Rio de Janeiro City Hall was a sponsor for the show as part of 2014 World Cup Festivities in Brazil on June 6, 2014.
Cory Wade-Hindorff, finalist from America’s Next Top Model and LGBT activist, is flying out from NYC to accept the Model of the Year Award. This award will be presented by Katiti Kironde, the first African American woman on the cover of Glamour magazine and Harvard entrepreneur. Kironde is also on the Board of Advisors for Mélange, and Kironde taught Harvard’s first Introduction to Fashion course.
Local designer, Agota Hodi, is showcasing new couture looks in San Francisco at the show for three of Mélange’s diverse community partners: Glide Church, Junior League of San Francisco, and Academy of Friends. Executive leaders from these prestigious San Francisco sects are coming together to attend Mélange 2014 in support of a more diverse image of beauty. Agota Hodi, recently featured designs at the E-Fashion Awards in Paris, FR.

As part of the annual celebration, select artists will be presented with awards. Alessandra Senna will be flying out from Brazil to accept Mélange’s International Ambassador Award. Local designer, VC Couture, will be accepting the Bay Area Designer Award. VC Couture has been featured in Vogue, Marie Claire and other magazines and is owned by Lashawn Goodwin, a local female African American entrepreneur.
