Nico Tortorella, like so many of us, is no stranger to the mirror selfie, and their latest attempts to answer the question: “How much can one show on Instagram without getting censored?”
We applaud them for the investigation.
But before we get to that, let’s look at the previous reflections:
The artsy ones:
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
And the more mundane ones, but don’t forget there’s beauty in the mundane:
The latest involves a statement candle, the same right-arm-flex pose featured in several above, even less clothing, and an Ashton Kutcher reference.
You can see that here.

I love seeing his pubes poke out above his waistband.

Despite these odd pics, I like Nico Tortorella. He hosted an event in NY in June 2018 I enjoyed, with comedian Jessica Kirson and other entertainers. Fun!
justgeo
Great looking but tooo much F&^%G ink!
G R
I agree, it’s a lot.
D_Bro
It’s a good thing that it’s his body.
Desertmuscle8
Unfortunately his “ink” is just a bit bi-polar or in orher words ” schizophrenic”.. they are so helter-skeltor is worries me. and should his lovers.
david-tullis
He is nice looking with his clothes on. Not so much without.
winemaker
What’s the fascination with so much ink? It seems otherwise nice looking guys go overboard with tattoo sand this guy’s otherwise no exception. Now it would be nice to see this guy stark naked but hey i get there’re censors that’d prevent this even in this day and age.
Ricanthony
Take off the glasses, boo. He is sexy as f*ck!
dinard38
I agree. He looks much better with the tattoos covered.
Ricanthony
F*******CK!! Nico, you can get it! Yum!!!

If you’re going to do an article about Instagram posts, can you at least find a way that they show without having to click on each instapost?
xopher
Queerty is not the cause of the photos not showing up (necessitating you need to click through). Your browser is set to block them, possibly Firefox, which blocks tracking by Facebook. Ya gotta check your own settings.
James Hart
This guy’s very attractive, however, most Italian-American men are very homophobic.
JED08
He’s into dudes.
Donston
He may be “into dudes” in whatever ways. But he’s definitely been problematic since he first came out. Claiming that he can’t be “gay” because most of his friends are female, blaming “white gay men” for him not being fully embraced by the “queer community” and not being seen as a “queer icon”, claiming sexuality and gender aren’t real, saying white men in particular have no real sexuality or gender, saying “good people” shouldn’t allow themselves to be seen as “gay” (pretty much saying that “gay” is a bad word and is for bad people). I am all about not taking identities as seriously as we do, and I admit they can feel arbitrary and constricting. I am also all about the realities of fluidity, freedom of choice and the gender, romantic, sexual, emotional investment, relationship contentment spectrum. But Nico represented the most pretentious, one-note and homo-shaming/anti-gay aspects of “new queer theory”. Then there was him trying to shame Ashton Kutcher for calling out his drug use on set and for telling Nico to be more professional. Even people who worship “bi pride guys” felt he was out of line and self-pitying and once again used someone else’s name or cause to get himself some publicity.
He’s still very much about attention. But I do sympathize with his depressions, fluidity, confusions, addictions. He has calmed down on the self-pity. And he seems to have educated himself more on the entire orientation and gender spectrum. Therefore, he’s at least been less problematic.
jjose712
The community doesn’t embrace him because everything he does screams attention whore.
He is always whining about anything or coming out as something different.
He is more an instagramer than an actor
Chrisk
That was a great analysis Donston but he is married to a women. Ironic for someone supposedly so against labels. Then again for someone who’s ashamed of the gay label it would fit perfectly well.
Pretentious is also a great description of him. I could never imagine being in the same room as this guy as he’s just so full of himself. He’s one of those smug contrarians that thinks he’s ever so clever.
Donston
I do allow for change and growth. But Nico has never apologized for or clarified his previous problematic views and perspectives. That’s why I just can’t fvck with him. He took his own resentments, experiences and struggles when it comes to identity, gender, sexuality and orientation and tried to paint everyone else in the same light. It was unfortunate. A lot of the new age “queer theory” does have some truth to it. But you can’t use it to pigeonholed everyone. He forgot about respecting the fact that everyone is an individual and has different motivations and struggles. That is the main crux of modern “queer theory”. Never mind how unrelentingly whiny, pretentious and attention starved he/them was for a couple years.
ShiningSex
HE’S TOTALLY GAY. HE MAY BE INVOLVED WITH A WOMAN, BUT HAS MAINLY BEEN INVOLVED WITH MEN AND TRANSWOMEN.
ShiningSex
FROM WHAT I UNDERSTOOD. HE AND HIS WIFE ARE JUST BEST FRIENDS.
ElPillo
“Little left to the imagination”? Not sure about that. If that is true, the guy falls short, very short in packaging.
JED08
His is a medium size, it’s not tiny. It would work great for me.
ShiningSex
HE DOES. JUST ASK LADEMI
Peter
He’d be attractive but for the mishmash of putrid ink. Handsome guy with hot body hair, but the ink turns me off.
nmarkwb
God Dang!!!! ????????
Heywood Jablowme
Notice that the article is calling Nice “they” but every single commenter here is calling Nico “him” not “they.” I guess the “they” stuff didn’t catch on for some strange reason. /s
Donston
Even if you respect everyone’s pronoun game this a hard one. Anything that’s going to force people to re-frame phrasing is just not going to work long-term or ever become mainstream. Lots of folks have multiple personalities, and plenty of people have dimensions/fluidity in their sense of gender, but constantly referring to a single person as them/they/it is just awkward and impractical. That particular “movement” is gonna need some re-tooling and some brand new words. And what happened to “queers” having a sense of humor and being self-deprecating when it comes to internal struggles and dimensions? Folks are really starting to take their individual sense of self to the extremes of self-seriousness.
Thad
You’re right! I apologize.
batesmotel
Another narcissus. When you have no other talents, but your looks, then that’s all you’re resorted to.
yaletownman
He’s got a 70’s body except for ink. Reminds me of my adolescence/teenage years and the older guys I honed my lust upon.
domen8r
Do I have to read 2300 Insta comments/replies to get more on this Ashton reference?
jsteinbee
I like them all
LilMesican
Nico is known for posting his ‘little to the imagination’ photos. I’m sure at this point we can fill in the blanks.
I actually like his photos with clothes on. He’s already cute, proven to be a good actor, and known to be part of the Alphabet Gang.
I would like to see a photo of him in a tux with the tie undone. Now that’s hot!!!
ShiningSex
THAT QUEEN IS NOT BI. HE’S GAY. WHOMEVER BELIEVES HE’S NOT TOTALLY GAY ARE IGNORANT.
