Thousands of people turned out for two days of non-stop celebrations, that included your usual festival and parade, plus events for families, gaymers, dykes on bikes, circuit parties, and a performance by the legendary Jody Watley.

Pride in October is such a strange concept to me. Regardless, the weather looked great and the guys were cute.

Spot the Token Contest. Atlanta is super segregated. Nice try though. They have separate gay prides for a reason.

@Captain Obvious: We down here in SA face the same issue. The “gay” definition is a differing experience for blacks than it is for whites. And the stark differences are too painfully “in your face” to ignore.
Pride is for white gay; hard bodies, six packs , drags queens, the works. For the blacks, it means something else entirely and I wouldn’t exactly describe it as “Pride”.

@barkomatic: We used to have it in June, barkomatic, but everyone sweltered. It’s been in October for four years now, I think, and the weather is always perfect. Saturday-Sunday it was just 80 both days with sunshine. What more could you want from the weather?

@barkomatic: Pride in Palm Springs is in November. It’s just too hot anytime before then.
