At the ripe old age of 11, Russell Tovey began appearing in commercials and in bit parts on television shows. His breakout came at 25 when he starred in the original stage version of The History Boys, where his sex appeal and enthusiasm brought the casting agents calling.
Now 37, Tovey has the role of a lifetime alongside three giants of cinema: Helen Mirren, Ian McKellen, and director Bill Condon. In the thriller The Good Liar, Tovey plays Steven, the doting grandson of Mirren’s Betty. When Betty falls for McKellen’s Don, Steven tries to protect his grandmother and a rollercoaster of thrills ensues.
