Here’s something we certainly weren’t expecting: The head of Lucasfilm has not only acknowledged the popular fan theory that romance is in the cards for two of Star Wars’ leading men, she’s opened the door wide open for it to become a reality.
President Kathleen Kennedy says she and her team are listening closely when the Internet lights up with Star Wars theories, and the Finn/Poe (John Boyega/Oscar Isaac) love story chatter was especially noteworthy to them.

Speaking to Ecartelera, Kennedy said:
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
“We’ve talked about it, but I think you’re not going to see it in The Last Jedi.”
“After 40 years of adventures, people have a lot of information and a lot of theories about the path these stories can take, and sometimes those theories that come up are new ideas for us to listen to, read and pay attention to.”
Boyega himself threw a bit of gasoline on the romance embers last year:
“What’s so funny, I posted a video the other day of myself working out, skipping, and in the background Oscar is just like, ‘Yeah baby go on!’ and people just went crazy.
But as far as I’m concerned when JJ [Abrams] sat us down to go through the script, it was a bromance. But now I’m learning what Mark Hamill said before when he didn’t know that Darth Vader was Luke’s father — you never know what they’re going to pull.”

Isaac went even further, telling Ellen:
“I think there’s a very subtle relationship happening,” he told Ellen last year. “You have to watch the film a few times to see the little hints, but there was. At least I was playing romance… I won’t say with which character.”
Only time will tell if this intergalactic romance finally comes to fruition, but two words come to mind until then: fan fiction.

No, it’s not… no possibility. Just more blowing smoke up the butts of stupid fans that will buy a ticket only to realize none of what they were told is in there.
Captain Obvious
TV shows used to do this all the time and the WB not only capitalized on this but perfected it. It’s basically “hoyay” and it goes nowhere. Fans stay on the hook for years or even decades hoping it’ll happen but it never does.
Now it’s happening in movies apparently. They did it with Professor X and Magneto in the movies too. No one is imagining anything it’s definitely done on purpose. They even do it with brothers on Supernatural.
I find it tacky.

Yes, I will definitely buy a ticket based on their vague, pandering promise about a three-decade old, multi-billion-dollar movie franchise that hasn’t featured an LGBT character YET.

What is this fascination with LGB(TQRS…) superheroes really about? Is there a large LGB sci-fi fanbase or something? First the gay Spider-Man thing, then the whole Deadpool thing, then the newly lesbian Power Ranger, and Star Wars has been going back and forth on this for years now. Is it to fill the void of the openly gay NFL player that never really happened?

The only thing a gay romance will prove is that this franchise has reached its end, which is something I thought has occurred thirty plus years ago. We all know now that the physics involving the speed the ships are traveling and the human body simply are not possible. I thought the kid was gay from day one but kept silent because of how cute he was. But to bring him out of the closed is tacky.

The only thing more predictable than the fake Hollywood claims that they are “Thinking about putting an lgbt character in something” is the self hating trolls coming in here to bitch about it.
