Weird Al has been enjoying a surge back to relevance lately, but say what you will of the parody king, street cred is not his strong suit.
Out choreographer-performer Todrick Hall has also been hard at work creating parody versions of iconic songs (Beauty and the Beat is our personal favorite), but the former American Idol contestant’s videos have a decidedly more inner city vibe. Which seems like it could easily be interpreted as offensive to some, but manages to walk the “all in good fun” line.
His latest video tackles karaoke cliche “Summer Nights” from Grease, which he appropriately calls Greased.
