Proving once again that he knows no bounds to his pandering, hypocrisy or general odiousness, Donald Trump is selling shirts for Pride month.
The announcement comes not long after the Trump administration announced policies that would bar transgender people from homeless shelters, deny gay couples immigration status and the appointment of one of the most homophobic judges in American history. DonaldTrump.com now offers shirts celebrating queer pride with the slogan “Gays for Trump” embossed on a Pride flag. The reverse of the shirt features Trump’s tired campaign slogan “Make America Great Again.”
The shirt retails for $30 plus shipping.

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Unsurprisingly, a number of leaders within the queer community have denounced the shirt and the idea that Trump supports LGBTQ rights.
“The Trump Administration is trying to pull yet another con job on LGBTQ Americans, but like their other desperate ploys, this idea will fall flat,” noted Zeke Stokes, Chief Programs Officer for GLAAD. “Trump should hold the sales pitch and try issuing a statement honoring June as National Pride Month and the countless of LGBTQ Americans who fought tooth and nail for the level of acceptance our nation sees today.”
During his Presidential run in 2016, Trump vowed that he would stand up for the LGBTQ community, and earned endorsements from porn performer Colby Keller and transgender celebrity Caitlyn Jenner. Since coming into office, however, the Trump administration has encouraged anti-queer policies and legislation almost nonstop.
Note to our fellow queers: don’t buy the shirt. Moreover, don’t kiss anyone who owns one.

How about a “Trump for LGBT” shirt instead?
techboysf
Concerned about the “Queer” or “Questioning” part?
Brian
Techboy, are you concerned about the intersex and asexual part? And whatever the fck the asterisk stands for?
Polaro
You nailed it, Trump made it about him, again.
DavidIntl
@techboysf Without wanting to start a sterile debate, some of us just think that continually extending the alphabet soup is silly. NOT that the groups represented by each additional letter are silly – everyone deserves respect, of course. But that we can say LGBT and people will generally understand that we are talking about a diverse collective of people who are something other than 100% pure CIS heterosexuals.
Cam
Typical Republicans. Attack LGBTs, pass laws against us, tell agencies they should discriminate against us, but hey, it’s ok, they put us on a shirt.
Brian
Hmm, LA Pride is in a few weeks. It would almost be worth getting one of these and going. Angelinos do self righteousness better than anyone outside of SF.
Plus, I’d almost be guaranteed to be assaulted, and what better place for that to happen? There would be 100 people filming it. Gay guy bashed by Pride festival attendees, the headline writes itself. Plus the Pride organizers have deep pockets, as does the City of LA.
The downside is that I’d have to go to LA Pride. Ick.
IWantAFullBeard
You have to have some type of personality disorder to intentionally go somewhere with the hope and intention of goading people into assault. But then again Los Angelos folks are the “self righteousness” ones. Got it.
Brian
Wearing a t-shirt is goading somebody?
PinkoOfTheGange
CSW doesn’t have deep pockets and it happens in WeHo.
truthseeker
@IWantAFullBeard
Based on that logic, that we should assault someone based on their clothing, I guess you feel women should be assaulted for wearing short skirts
xtianLAX
What is more apparent here.. His covert jealousy for people with deep pockets, for people who live in Los Angeles or San Francisco, or for people that have no hangups attending a pride event without concern for how they are being perceived by strangers?
Brian
Jealousy? That makes zero sense. Actually less than zero sense, since I live in Los Angeles, hence me not saying Atlanta Pride. And I wouldn’t live in San Francisco if you gave me a free house.
And Pinko, you’re right, I should have said WeHo. The point was, there would be big businesses to pay a settlement, which isn’t always the case when some unhinged SJW is triggered by Trump clothing.
And no, I’m not really going to do this. But I’m sure there are a few people in here who would enjoy a video of me getting stomped.
IWantAFullBeard
Truth seeker – um what?
IWantAFullBeard
Brian – your entire second paragraph is about goading people into assaulting you. Have trouble reading what you wrote or is comprehension the problem?
truthseeker
@IWantAFullBeard
You said wearing a t-shirt is goading someone into assaulting you. That says more about you that you’re willing to assault someone over their clothing choices than it does about the shirt wearer
Brian
Wearing a t-shirt is literally one of the most pacifist ways to make a statement. And wearing a gay themed t-shirt to gay pride? Highly appropriate. Isn’t diversity a major theme of pride?
By your logic, someone wearing a Drag Race shirt to a rodeo in Huntsville Alabama is goading people into assaulting him.
Jacob
@Brian Any self-respecting gay person who valued what little rights they had would not seriously wear this shirt in public.
truthseeker
@Jacob
I guess you’re trying to win the oppression Olympics with the comment, “what little rights” we have. Where do you have “little” rights?
Last time I checked we have the right to freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom to have parades, freedom to own a business, freedom to drive a car, freedom to own a gun, freedom to vote, freedom to fly on a plane, freedom to seek medical treatment, freedom to own property, freedom to own land, freedom to petition, freedom to attend college, freedom to attend a trade school, freedom to travel, freedom to leave the country, freedom to marry, freedom to divorce, freedom to own stocks and bonds, freedom to due process, freedom to dress however you want (as long as you don’t violate decency laws), freedom to choose your mate, freedom to access information, freedom to use the internet, etc. The list goes on
To say that gay Americans have “little rights” sounds like you live in a little bubble
Cam
More likely headline
Desperate person shows up at parade celebrating LGBT pride wearing shirt advocating for bigotry against LGBTs looks for attention.
xtianLAX
Maybe with your comment, you’re proving that bitterness comes in every color of the rainbow.
NOLAwolf
@ Brian: YOU are the one who suggested that people from our community attending LA Pride would assault you for wearing this T-shirt, while also incorrectly postulating that the Pride organizers and the city would somehow be financially liable if they did. So, how dare you suggest that it was FullBeard who first implied it, when “goading” attendees of Pride was actually your deranged “get-rich-quick” scheme? And, of course, I realize your initial comment was facetious, and also unnecessarily harmful to LA, the upcoming Pride events and the anticipated gay attendees by inappropriately (and also ironically) suggesting that someone would be attacked by gays, when it is they who are historically the victims of physical assaults instead.
@ truthseeker: See my response to Brian. Also, your ridiculous attempt to portray gays as being equal to others in America by making a list of rights that we share was both idiotic and irrelevant. First of all, nobody has a RIGHT to fly on airplanes or to drive a car. Those are considered privileges rather than a right. Secondly, It doesn’t matter how many rights and freedoms we have bc it’s the ones we do NOT have that matter. We are not protected from employment or housing discrimination in most states. Which means that we can be fired or denied an opportunity to lease an apartment or house simply for being gay with no other reason required for said denial. I’d say those are both very important areas that prove we are not even close to full equality. So, consider that before making a stupid list in a futile attempt to prove that we are equal.
Mack
Actually those buying these shirts are traitors to the LGBTQ cause. Probably some idiot who wants to provoke something.
techboysf
Trump trying to 1) Grab some money from suckers, and 2) Provoke something? How very dare you? 😉
Harley
I’ll be sure to keep a full milkshake in hand in case I see one of those T-shirts.
PinkoOfTheGange
Icee’s stain better
techboysf
Ooh, nice touch with the icee’s staining better. Milk is grosser, but the FDA-approved artificial colors will last longer!
Prospero761
Sadly, there are still some idiot LGBT+ folks out there. Stupidity has no sexuality.
Mikey E
There’s no such thing as “LGBT+ folks.”
#LGB
Mojohood
As a gay man I have about as much in common with the Trans Community as I do with the Housewives of Boise. Zero. Nada. Zilch.
IWantAFullBeard
I’m sure they want nothing to do with you either.
Cam
Except for the fact that Republicans are trying to pass laws against both of your existences, or FOX News uses both of you to whip their viewers into a bigoted rage, or that right wingers are attacking both of your rights to marry or live your lives, or that religious nuts and Republicans are trying to allow public businesses to legally discriminate against you…
But other than THAT…..
aliu292
Also except that the gay rights movement was kicked off by trans people and drag queens of color so btfo you disgusting gatekeeper.
PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS
Our community is the sacrificial lambs for this administration. There is no law, cause, person or movement who’s sole purpose is to cause us harm that is off limits.
It’s like they made a horrific bargain with the far right evangelical smcubags. We’ll keep working on attacking the Gays as long as you support us ..
FunInTheSack
The ‘tolerant ones’ preaching to others how to be ‘intolerant’.
Gay. And proud!!!
Trump2020!!!
Jacob
Enjoy that trump loss in 2020, honey.
FunInTheSack
Jacob, how lost you are.
Which candidate is poised to beat President Trump?
Trump2020!!!!
Landslide!!!!
Cam
Another phony account.
And I can’t believe you all are STILL trying to pretend that to be “Tolerant” LGBT people have to “Tolerate” hatred, bigotry, and attacks on us.
That line failed when the Mormons tried it during the Prop 8 debacle, and it’s amazing you’re still trying it.
truthseeker
@Cam
The only phony throwaway accounts are your own. You used to be DCguy and now you’re logging in as your old Cam account. That’s so far 2 known accounts from 1 user. How many other names do you have?
radiooutmike
The audacity level is off the charts on this one.
Mikey E
Finally, we can all agree that “LGBTQ” is a nauseating creation. Even Queerty wants to hurl.
LGB and T are 2 different groups, defined by different criteria. Q is a postmodern term with no clear, accepted definition. LGB people harm ourselves when we tamper with our identity and muddle the meaning of being gay.
#LGB #Lesbian #Gay #Bisexual
IWantAFullBeard
I’m gay and proud to help out all my transgendered brothers and sisters.
Brian
Your obsession with the term LGBT is weird. You can use whatever term you want, stop policing everybody else’s choice
Mikey E
@IWantAFullBeard – Trans people are no more our “brothers and sisters” than any other humans on the planet. We owe no special obligation to them or anyone else. If you want to fight for trans rights, that’s great. Go right ahead. Don’t colonize all LGB people or warp our identity to artificially link us to transgenderism. Thank you!
Cam
Hmmmmm, so the same account trying to support bigoted Republicans couldn’t derail the conversation, so now it’s desperately trying to pretend to be gay and attack Trans people hoping to derail the topic THAT way.
The Republicans aren’t sending their brightest in here are they?
1898
Joe Biden’s campaign just put out a bunch of Pride-themed stuff. One of the shirts says “Love Each Other” with rainbow colors in the background. It’s a nice message, all-inclusive, non-partisan.
Jared MacBride
At least the colors are correct.
jckfmsincty
Trump is truly the most clueless and dangerous person in America.
Wicked Dickie
There are gays for Trump. Just like they’re women for Trump, Latino’s for Trump, Blacks for Trump, and yes, Whites for Trump. It’s called American democracy. You don’t like it, VOTE.
IWantAFullBeard
No it’s called American idiocy.
truthseeker
@IWantAFullBeard
Well I’m not shocked that you just said democracy = idiocy
DavidIntl
I know – although it wasn’t extensively reported/discussed at the time – that Trump actually, and seemingly improbably, got a HIGHER percentage of the black vote, and of the Latino vote, than Romney had four years before. I haven’t seen any reporting on the gay vote, but would be interested to know what percentage voted for him.
mfreeze7777
Absolutely LOVE all the Trump love going on here!
zoez90670
Count me on your side. Trump has his faults, but I’m still a Conservative. I am very encouraged by Mayor Pete, its refreshing to see how far we have come.
mfreeze7777
I have PRIDE in seeing other conservative/voices for once! Gay voices are not just liberal only! What’s hilarious is that they cry out in tolerance yet are intolerant of differing opinions. It’s a rainbow after all. This is for all the conservative gays on here…let’s get together and form something for us! Anyone know or want to start something or stay in contact?! So definitely Trump 2020 for me because that’s the side that will protect our babies! Conservative gay in Wichita Ks! ??

“The shirt retails for $30 plus shipping.”
What sh*thole country was the shirt made in?:
1) China
2) Bangladesh
3) Honduras
I’m guessing (3)!
truthseeker
@Heywood Jablowme
It’s actually made in the USA and on sale for $24. Mayor Pete’s “Pride for Pete” sells for $25. The other candidates all sell shirts for $30
1898
Joe Biden’s campaign just put out a bunch of Pride-themed stuff. Made in USA *and* union-made. The prices are very reasonable. One of the shirts says “Love Each Other” with rainbow colors in the background. It’s a nice message, all-inclusive, non-partisan.
Jo2l
Make sure you save one for Aaron Schock.
