The show was wise to cast Valentina in the role of Angel, tapping into the huge fanbase behind RuPaul’s Drag Race.
But the question still remains whether she can adequately step into Angel’s fishnets and deliver a powerful performance.

We have high hopes she can.
Valentina’s character, Angel Dumott Shunard, is a homeless, HIV+ genderfluid street performer who falls in love with Tom Collins.

Valentina will also appear on season 4 of RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars, which premieres Friday, December 14 at 8 pm on VH1.
